Boys Across The Hall

Chapter 5

*Lucy's POV*

"So? What did he say?" I looked at Stace as she plopped herself back down on the couch.

"We're gonna be friends," she said, smiling at me, "and he said I scared Thomas earlier which was my goal so yay!" She chuckled and then froze.

"What did you say to Thomas?!"

"Nothing. I said nothing!"

"Stacey! What did you say!" She sighed and turned to face me.

"I told him that if he ever hurt you he'd have me to deal with."  As soon as the words came out of her mouth, I jumped off the couch and headed for Thomas's appartment.  I heard Stacey shout on me but I was out the door before she could say anything more. I banged on their door loudly and Thomas opened the door.

"What the hell Lucy?!"

"I'm sorry!! What did Stacey say to you?" He looked down and sighed before looking back up at me.

"She told me if I hurt you, I'd have her to deal with."  I put both my hands over my face and shook my head.

"I am so sorry!"

"It's fine." Thomas chuckled and I removed my hands from my face.

"What?"

"I said it's fine, it's not as if anything is going to happen between us anyway." I felt like a tone of bricks had just crushed my chest, and it must have shown on my face too, because he frowned and took a step towards me.  But before he could say anything I started to run down the stairs and headed out of the appartment building.  I didnt turn back, just kept running, pushing people out of my way.  I ended up in a small park just a few streets away from our appartment building.

I sat down on a bench and wiped a tear that I realised had escaped.  Come on, Lucy.  Toughen up.  Dont let one stupid guy do this to you.  You're better than this. Someone sat down beside me and I looked up to find Lover Boy there.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him, realising I still didn't know this guys name since Stacey hadnt told me.

"Well, when you ran off, Thomas was going to chase after you but Stacey came out of the appartment before he could.  I decided I'd come look for you since they were both too busy arguing.  I think I heard Stacey say something about making sure Thomas wont be able to have any children if he's upset you." Lover Boy chuckled.  "I'm Dylan by the way."

"I'm Lucy. How'd you find me anyway?"

"Well, I asked myself were I would go to think.  And then I remembered seeing this park on my way home one night so I figured I'd try here first. Looks like I was right huh?" He nudged me with his elbow and I chuckled.

"How old are you anyway Lucy? You look a lot younger than Stacey."

"I'm 18. How about you?"

"I'm 23.  Thomas is 24."  I looked down at my lap at the sound of his name.

"What happened Luce?" His voice sounded so sincere and like he cared.  But no.  I cant trust anyone nowadays.

"It doesnt matter." I heard Dylan sigh and he stood up.

"Come on.  Lets go back to the appartment yeah?"  I nodded reluctantly and stood up.  Dylan and I began walking back and we were at the appartment building in no time.  I stopped walking and Dylan turned to look at me.

"You dont wanna see him?" I shook my head and looked down.

"It's okay, I'll make sure he doesnt say anything. I promise."  I reluctantly began walking behind Dylan up the stairs. I could hear Stacey shouting at Thomas from down here.  Man she must be mad.  We got to the flight of stairs that lead up to our floor. The top floor. 

"Guys will you shut up!! I got her!" I heard Dylan shout from in front of me.  I kept my eyes on the stairs as we continued to climb them.

"Lucy! Are you okay?!" Stacey immediately came over to me and put her arm around my shoulders.

"Lucy! I'm so sorry. Please! Let me explain!" Thomas begged and began to walk over to me but I saw Dylan step in front of me, blocking his path.

"Dude, just let her calm down first yeah? Come on, lets go." Dylan began guiding Thomas back into their appartment.  Thomas made no attempt to talk to me again and let Dylan guide him inside.

"I'm sorry." I said to Stacey as she hugged me.

"Dont be sorry! I'm just glad your okay!"  Stacey led us both into the appartment and I told her I was going for a bath.  This is definetely going to be eventful living across from those boys.
