*Dylan's POV*

None of us spoke for at least another 10 minutes.  The only noise you could hear was Lucy's muffled sobbing.  I still had my arm around Stacey, and when I looked at her, I noticed she was staring at Lucy, a few tears of her own escaping.  She went over and knelt down in front of Lucy.

"Come here." She whispered.  Lucy unwrapped herself from Thomas and leaned in towards Stacey to hug her.

"I'm going to kill him." I hissed.

"Not if I get to him first." Thomas replied.

"No!" Lucy wiped her face with her sleeves and looked between me and Thomas. "You cant! Please dont.  Just leave it!"

"Lucy. He said he wasnt going to stop until he had you again." Stacey whispered to her best friend.  Lucy covered her face with her hands.  She wasnt crying, she just didnt know what to do.

"Right. Go get packed.  We're going."  Thomas said as he stood up and began to make his way to his bedroom.

"Wait!" Stacey stood up and Thomas stopped in his tracks, turning around to face us.  "Where are we going?"

"You'll see."  With that, Stacey and Lucy went back to their appartment to pack and I headed to my bedroom to do the same.

Half an hour later and we were packing our bags into the back of Thomas's car.  Lucy sat in the front with Thomas and Stacey and I sat in the back.  Thomas had told us about a house his parents had on a small beach not far from here.  That's where we're headed.  Thomas held Lucy's hand in his lap and Stacey had fallen asleep beside me.  She was up most of the night worrying so she's probably pretty tired.  The drive was almost two hours.  It flew by though.  But nobody spoke.  Not once.  But it wasnt an awkward silence. It was comfortable.

When we eventually arrived at Thomas' parents beach house, it was mid afternoon.  Stacey and Lola took in their surroundings as me and Thomas got the bags from the boot of the car.  Once we were all inside, Stacey and I went into one of the bedrooms and Thomas and Lola went into the other.  I chucked my bag down on the bed and sat down on the edge.

"Hey! Whats up?" Stacey nudged my shoulder as she sat down beside me.

"Nothing, I'm just tired."

"You know, I think we're going to be safe out here.  You dont have to be afraid." She took my hand in hers and looked me in the eyes.

"I'm not scared for me, Stacey. I'm scared for you and Lucy."  I looked down at our hands.  "I swear to god, I will not let him any where near you!"  Stacey cupped my cheek and turned my head to look at her.

"I know you wont." She whispered.  I looked in to her eyes and realised that the fiesty girl I met only a few days ago, the one who was now one of my best friends, was now the person I wanted to be with.

"Stacey, I-" But I was cut off.  Stacey's lips captured my own.  Our lips moved in perfect sinc with each other's.  When we pulled away, I stared into her eyes.  She smiled at me and I smiled back.  What was this girl doing to me?

*Thomas's POV*

Lucy had went outside to sit on the balcony.  Stacey and Dylan were in their room and I was in the kitchen getting myself a drink.  Through the window I could see Lucy looking at something on her phone.

"Hey." I sat down next to her on the bench and looked out to the sea.

"Hi." She answered softly, turning to look at me.

"You alright?" She nodded in response.  "What you looking at?" She looked back down at her phone and then handed it to me.  It was a photo of a man, he looked about 30, and a younger looking Lucy.

"Your Dad?"

"Yeah..."

"Is he?"

"Yeah, he died a year or so after that picture was taken.  Cancer."  I gave the phone back to Lucy and she held it tightly in her hands.  "I miss him. A lot."

"I can only imagine, Luce."

"We're going to be okay here, right?"

"I hope so. I really do.  But dont worry.  Me, Dylan and Stacey dont plan on letting him anywhere near you." I nudged her with my elbow and she smiled.

"Thanks for this Tommy."  I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Tommy? That's new." She laughed and nudged me back with her elbow.

"I can call you that right?"

"Yeah. Of course you can.  But feel honoured because Dylan tried calling me that once and I told him not too."  I chuckled and she smiled at me.  She was searching my face for something.  I couldnt tell what.  I havent told her much about myself.

"I do feel honoured." We both laughed and turned our attention back to the sea.

"We're gonna be happy here.  Even if it's just for a while."  I whispered.  She grabbed my hand and squeezed it.  I smiled to myself as she began playing with my fingers.

"Do you play any instruments?"

"That's an odd question."

"Well, do you?" She asked again.

"I used to play bass."

"I thought so.  Your hands look like bassist hands."

"Okay?" I laughed at her and she joined in.

"Why'd you stop?"

"I dont know really. I just did."

"Hmm." She was thinking to herself.  I didnt ask anything.  Just let her think about whatever she was thinking about.
