Boys Across The Hall

Chapter 3

*Stacey's POV*

I open my eyes slightly as the sun is coming through the window as if its main goal is to blind me.  I realise this is not my room.  I'm sure of it.  I turn my head round slightly as I heard a noise from beside me.  My eyes land on a mop of dark hair.  The hair I wanted to run my fingers through last night! Oh no no no no no! This can not be happening! I don't even know his name!  He was still asleep so I got out the bed quietly.  I put on my clothes from last night and opened the door quietly, walking in to the living room.  I was tip-toeing through the living room, almost at the door, just a few more steps!

"Hey!" I squeeked and jumped around.

"You scared me!!" I looked at the guy stood in front of me.  He was a few inches taller than me.   Dirty blonde hair.  Does he live here too?

"Who are you?" I asked him.  He just chuckled to himself.

"I'm your boyfriend's best friend and roommate" he answered while sitting down on the couch, munching on an apple.

"He isnt my boyfriend, now if you'll excuse me, I need to go" I turned around and walked out the appartment. This looks awful familiar.  Wait a minute..  Is that my appartment?!  I frantically get my key out of my bag and placed it in the look and turned the key in the lock.  The door opened.  Holy shit..  I turned around and looked at the door across the hall.  Ahh crap!

"Lucy?" I called out as I entered our appartment.

"Hey!" Lucy poked her head round the kitchen door and smiled.

"Did you have a good night?" she winked at me before fully coming out of the kitchen.  I sighed and made my way to the living room, falling down on the couch.

"I had sex with him.  And he lives across the hall!!" She heard Lucy gasp and pulled herself up into a sitting position on the couch.

"What is it Luce?"

"He's Thomas's roommate?!"

"Who the heck is Thomas?"

"He stayed here last night because his roommate turned up with a girl! You were the girl!"

"Woah, rewind! He slept here?!" I got up and walked to stand in front of Lucy.

"Yeah but only on the couch!" Lucy looked down.

"So he was the guy that scared the shit out of me when I snuck out this morning.. And you like him!!" Lucy gasped and looked up at me.

"I dont!" Lucy always gets shy when it comes to boys.  Lucy has never had a serious boyfriend.  She had a boyfriend 2 years ago, but he did things to her.  He hurt her.  And that is why both of us do not trust guys!

"Luce, its okay to like him, you know that right?" she gazed down at the floor.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just scared" I could hear her voice crack and pulled her into a tight hug.

"I know you are" We stayed like that for a minute or two and then she said she was going to go have a bath so I told her I was going to the shop down the road to get some junk food so we could have a movie day.  It's a Saturday, so luckily neither of us have anything planned for the day.

When I arrived at the shop, I got some chocolate, ice-cream, crisps, some coca-cola and a few other things.  On the way back I thought about the guy I slept with last night.  I cant believe I didnt even know his name! I got to the appartment and decided I was going to go and talk to whats-his-face about last night.  I opened the front door and headed to the kitchen to see Lucy getting some juice out of the fridge. 

"Hey, what did you get?" Lucy eagerly opened the bag and took everything out.

"I'm just going to go across the hall for a second"

"Why? To talk to lover boy?" Lucy laughed and I joined in.

"Yeah, I just want to clear some things up"

"Okay! I'll get the first movie ready" she smiled at me and headed to the living room.

I walked out of our appartment, not bothering to close the door as I would be standing right outside of it, and knocked on the boys door.  The one who I presumed was Thomas opened up and smirked at me.

"You're Thomas right?"

"Yeah? How the heck did you know that? And how did you remember where we bloody live."

"Because I live right there," pointing to our appartment, "and Lucy told me"

"Oh, so you're Lucy's roommate.  What do you want?"

"Is your friend awake?" he chuckled and shook his head.

"Nope! Not yet anyway.  But when he does wake up, I'll send him over."

"Thanks, and by the way, just a word of warning, if you ever, try anything on Lucy, or hurt her at all, you'll have me to deal with"  I turned my back on him and walked in to my appartment.  I turned around to close the door and noticed he had already closed his. Ha. Wuss.  I walked to the living room and plopped myself down beside Lucy.

"Hey, how did it go?"

"Thomas answered.  Lover boy was still asleep" I laughed.

"What did Thomas say?" Lucy looked at me with hopeful eyes. I knew what she meant.

"Nothing hun. Nothing at all" Lucy frowned and faced the television, picking up the remote and pressing play.  I sighed quietly and turned to face the television.
