Ace had no idea where he needed to go first. All he knew was others like him had acquired superpowers after the fall of the meteor but searching for them in the whole city without any clue would make his quest to reunite them all difficult. The voice in his head didn't help a lot; she could only sense their presence approximately and only spoke if she felt he was going too far away from one of them.
The grey rabbit had no idea how long he's been walking. The long walk around Acmetropolis was tiring him. More than that, seeing his home city in this apocalyptic state crushed his heart. People were screaming, crying, trying to call loved ones to make sure they were alright, and he knew the event would mark Acmetropolis and its inhabitants forever. He dreaded to know how many citizens they lost... He hoped no one he knew would be on the list of casualties.[Stop!]
Surprised by the voice accompanying him, he stopped walking. His feet felt sore inside his shoes – which he didn't forget to take back after his little swim I the sea to retrieve the Guardian Sword from the meteor. After a few seconds of silence, he was about to ask what was going on before the voice spoke again:
[Somewhere far on your right. One of them is here.]
He turned around toward the large street leading to one of Acmetropolis' square, heart beating widely with apprehension. He finally found one of his fellow's "chosen one"!
Ace walked down the street, careful to avoid the ruins and the fallen trees that once ago stood tall on the sidewalks. As he approached the square, something abruptly flew right before him, and he just had the time to avoid it before it could hit him. His ninja reflexes were still on the check, it seemed!
He raised his now yellow eyes toward the flying object only to discover with stupor it was a car. Of course, cars nowadays were technically flying – they didn't drive with wheels like in the twentieth century but with boosters, making them hover above the ground at approximately two feet, but they were built with a gravity magnet that made it impossible for them to take out to the sky. However, as he squinted, Ace noticed the boosters weren't on, and the car soon joined other things in a weird tornado of gravels, cement, and metal further away. They were all dancing in the air, in a terrifying ballet. He knew then and there it couldn't possibly be a natural occurrence and it was someone's else doing. So, he set off to find whoever could be responsible.
His answer came right away in the form of a cream-colored rabbit, kneeled beside the unmoving body of another person who, as Ace noticed as he approached further, was a brown duck. Both were girls, and immediately the young man recognized the other rabbit as the girl he accidentally hit earlier that day as he angrily walked around the city, thanks to her pink-colored cheerleading uniform. She was crying, probably because something happened to her friend, but didn't seem to have taken notice of the flying objects all around her.
[It's her.]
The voice confirmed what he had begun to speculate. Now he needed to tell her that a strange sword of powers coming from outer space had chosen her and others for some kind of reason... and he had no idea how to make her believe that. But he was more worried about the girl in general; she was clearly distraught and, if the flying objects around her were a display of her powers, she was not in control at all. He carefully stepped in her direction, slowly raising a hand to touch her shoulders as she still cried on the ground, unaware of his presence.
That was, until she abruptly turned around, her pink eyes reddened by the tears meeting his own surprised gaze. Did she hear him?
"Y-you!" she hiccupped, recognizing him as well.
"Err... hi again, I suppose," he greeted, not exactly knowing what to do; his eyes flickered toward the brown duck on the ground and he hoped with all his heart hers was still beating.
