Duck did not count the number of times he had used his recently discovered teleportation power but judging by the fatigue washing over him and the thousands of tingling through his body, it must have been a lot. Yet he did not stop until he reached the boulevard overlooking the burning building, the one from which the black smoke forming a cloud in the sky came from. Breathing heavily, he lifted his eyes toward Acme University, partially destroyed, and of which the faculty of science was burning despite the firefighters' intervention. A huge crowd was gathered in front of the gate leading to the university courtyard, with people panicked or too shocked to say anything and others who were getting into ambulances that kept leaving and coming back as quickly as their engines allowed them to. In short, it was total chaos.

The black duck didn't really know why he was drawn to this place, but now that he was standing there, he didn't really know what to do. He had no idea what had happened here, even though he suspected that the meteorite and the catastrophes that result from its impact had to do with the fire. He was about to step into the crowd when he heard someone yelling behind him.
As Duck turned around, he discovered a giant fellow, a Tasmanian devil to be more precise, who was also running in the direction of the university. The strangest thing was that he carried another man on his giant shoulders, a mouse, and the latter had a hard time maintaining his balance despite the muscles of the carnivore, which offered him more space.

"Slam!" he yelled, gripping the carnivore firmly. "Slow down, por Dios!"

Fortunately for him, the giant ended up slowing down, and his purple eyes – purple? Yes, yes, they were purple – watched, wide open, the flames in the distance.
Slam had never seen such a fire. Although Tasmania was just south of Australia, unlike the big island, Tasmania had a much more temperate climate that could sometimes result in the snow in winter. The summer really had to be arid the summer for the risk of fire to be high, but in twenty-six years of existence, the gigantic Tasmania devil had, fortunately, never had to face such a catastrophe. The wrestler helped Alonso to get off his shoulders. The mouse staggered for a moment, raised his finger, and pointed it towards his friend:

"Never, ever again," he mumbled, a little pale. "We'll take my car next time!"

Slam smiled at him, amused, although he realized how his size and strength could quickly overwhelm others. He had to remember this, especially now that he seemed stronger than before. Maybe he had been just lucky when he saved Goldfist, but a little voice inside him whispered that it wasn't normal. That he should have never been capable of such a feat.
The Tasmanian devil felt he was being watched. He turned his gaze to a black duck who stared at him curiously. When their eyes met, he had the strange sensation that they both knew each other... yet he had never seen this young man in his entire life.
For Duck, it was the same thing; there was a familiar aura from the carnivore, but he was certain that he had never met him. They both stood there looking at each other, until the mouse, who had noticed their weird looks, interrupted this strange moment of silence:

"Uh... Slam? Do you know him?" he asked his friend with a strong Spanish accent.

The Tasmanian devil shook his head, never taking his eyes off the duck. He could not help but notice the small size of the young man who had to break his neck to meet his gaze. There was a huge size difference between them!

Duck opened his beak to ask the giant in front of him if they had ever crossed paths somewhere, but his attention turned to the arrival of two other individuals not far from them, one of whom raised his voice to ask for help. They consisted of two rabbits, one of grey color, male, the other of cream color, female, who walked quickly to the nearest ambulance. The grey rabbit carried the third person in his arms, unconscious and certainly in great need of medical help. When the doctors saw them coming, they immediately pulled the emergency blankets out of the back of the vehicle – apparently, all their stretchers had been used and they were now overwhelmed. They collected the brown duck from the rabbit's arms before he and the cream-colored rabbit backed away. It was then Duck noticed that the girl carried a sword in her hand, shining under the rays of the sun that still managed to illuminate the city in spite of the cloud of smoke that enveloped the sky, and just looking at it gave him a strange sensation. He knew right there this sword was no ordinary weapon, but he could not say why. The cream-colored rabbit gave the blade to his companion, who, as he grabbed it, lifted up his eyes in his direction and looked at him in amazement. He pointed at Duck, and when the girl looked at him too, she was just as surprised.
