Chapter 16 - Confirmation

Third Person POV

"Is Nancy okay now?"

The Momoland members were gathered in the practice room, waiting for the maknae to arrive from her "outing" with Jungkook. They all knew about what happened in Philippines but none of them could bring the topic up when speaking to her.

"I think so." Taeha answered Jane's question, "It'll take some time for her to fully recover from her heartbreak but now that Jungkook has the guts to confess, shell get better. I know our strong maknae."

"I can't believe it took him THIS long to realise his feelings. The boys were also trying to help him but Jungkook was just too oblivious." JooE mentioned, shaking her head.

"But what about Dino?" Nayun remembered, "We all know how much he likes/cares for Nancy. Do you think she already told him?"

"I'm pretty sure, Nancy isn't as oblivious as Jungkook. She wouldn't want to lead anyone on if she found out." Yeonwoo stated, confident in what she knows about Nancy.

"I feel kinda bad for him to be honest." Ahin said, "He was Nancy's support when everything happened."

"Vernon texted me a week or two ago saying that the rest of SEVENTEEN are trying to cheer him up." Daisy added, wanting the rest of the girls to know that Dino is happy and well with his groupmates.

Before the conversation could continue, the practice room door opened, revealing 2 people: Nancy and Jungkook.

"NANCY! You're here!" JooE exclaimed jumping up to finally start practice.

"What's up Jungkook?" Jane greeted their visitor, giving a bro hug.

"Jungkook said that he wanted to see us practice do I brought him along if you dont mind..." Nancy quietly explained, worried that they'd get mad at her.

"That's fine, he can stay for as long as he wants." Daisy says, "We just need to stretch first."

"I'm gonna go now..." Nancy shyly tells him, looking back at him before going into the middle of the practice room.

Taeha started playing loud music for them to stretch to, making it hard for anyone to hear others clearly.

"JUNGKOOK!" Hyebin shouted over at the boy, walking away from her members.

Jungkook couldn't really hear anything over the music but saw Hyebin walking toward him so he guessed that she was trying to say something to him. He gestured to her that it was hard to hear her speaking so Hyebin dragged him outside the practice room for a bit.

"Jungkook." Hyebin started, using her normal voice now instead of shouting.

"Yes?" He answered, unsure of why she suddenly wanted to talk to him.

"Are you serious about Nancy?" She asked him, getting straight to the point.

"W-what?" Jungkook stuttered, taken aback from the sudden question.

"Are you serious about Nancy?" The leader repeated, saying it slower so he can hear it clearer.

"W-why are you asking such a sudden question?" Jungkook nervously laughed, embarrassed to answer the question.

"You do realise how hurt Nancy was over the last 2 years, right?" Hyebin reminded, wanting Jungkook to know where this conversation is going even if it ruins the mood a bit,

"Yeah, and I regret it so much." The boy answered sincerely, the regret evident on his face.

"Now that you finally realised the relationship between you two, I wish you'd both be happy. It is hard to have a relationship especially when we're idols and both of you are so young so I hope you two can make the right decisions," Hyebin started,

"But if you aren't serious about this and did it out of pity, you should end it now. I care about all groupmates and I don't like seeing them hurt. Nancy has already been hurt a lot but now I can see that she's slowly getting better. I don't want to see her hurt again."

"Noona," Jungkook spoke up, "I don't want to see Nancy hurt again either. Looking back, I could see how selfish and self-centered I was with her and can clearly see why she felt that way. But I realised that I was trying to force myself to think that she's just my best friend because I was infatuated with the ones i looked up to.

"I honestly feel thankful for Dino because he comforted her when I was the one who hurt her and yet she still continued to like me. When I realised my feelings, I wanted to help her like Dino did but I was worried that I'd hurt her again. But my hyungs helped me to start talking to her again and to take things slowly so we can build our relationship up once again.

"I'm determined to continue being by Nancy's side, whether it's as a friend or more, so I can help her be happy again." Jungkook finished.

Hyebin could see how genuine he was and the determination in his eyes. She was relieved that they both had a chance to be happy again.

"Thank you, Jungkook," Hyebin said, putting a hand on his shoulder as a sign of approval, "for caring so much about Nancy."

"No problem, noona." Jungkook says, putting a a hand or her shoulder.

"We should get back now. Nancy's probably wondering where you are." The leader suggested, patting the boys back before walking toward the practice room door.

"Wait, noona." Jungkook suddenly calls out, making Hyebin turn around, "One question... How did Namjoon hyung confess to you?"

With that one question, Hyebin immediately turned around in embarrassment to hide her red face.

"W-why do you w-want to know?" Hyebin tried asking but the words couldn't clearly come out.

"I want to know how to properly confess to Nancy." Jungkook smiles, walking over to the girl, clueless about her embarrassment.

"Boi, you asked the wrong person." Hyebin stated, walking faster away from him but he caught up quickly.

"Why? Can you tell me? Please!! I couldn't be there that day!!!" Jungkook pleaded with her, grabbing her arm and shaking it back and forth.

"Let's just say he confessed in a clumsy way that involved the destruction of both a cake and clothes." Hyebin gave in, only telling him the key moments.

"Really?! Then why did you accept?" Jungkook asks, taking this opportunity to tease her about it even if he didn't know the full story.

"Because it was cute!" Hyebin burst iut in anger, playfully annoyed at his constant questions.

"Aww!!! You thought Namjoon hyung was cute!"

"STOP!"

A/n: Here's an update after a whole year!! Well, it feels like a whole year. Sorry for not updating (for those who still read this). I was really busy and lazy at the same time so... Yeah. I was thinking on ending this book soon though because I want to focus on some of the other books I have in my drafts (I posted 2 of them if you want to check them out lol) so this book will have only a few chapters left. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
