Chapter 10 - Break Up

Third Person POV

"Excuse me?"

It's been a week since Nancy requested for a hiatus and since the article about Lisa and JungKook was released.

When JungKook met with his CEO, he told them that he would like to arrange a meeting with Lisa and her CEO first so they can come to an agreement.

Lisa was feeling nervous, not because of the meeting with the CEOs, but with breaking up with her boyfriend.

She was worried that JungKook might not take it well if he actually liked her. Or if he would get mad at her for dating him without feelings. Her members tried to stop her from overthinking but even if it looks like she is okay, her mind was filled with worries.

The day of the meeting, Lisa asked to speak to JungKook before going into the room. Thankfully, the CEOs understood and gave them some time.

JungKook thought his girlfriend was just nervous about the meeting but he was not expecting the words that Lisa said.

"I'm sorry, JungKook," Lisa repeated, "But I didn't realise that I didn't feel the same... Let's break up..."

"B-but why? How? When?" JungKook stuttered, not expecting this situation at all.

"I was thinking about it a lot after the article was released and when I realised I didn't feel the same, I didn't want to hurt you by suddenly breaking up after the news." Lisa tried to explain so JungKook wont have to question her further, "I was worried that you actually liked me so I planned to not break up until you did."

"Wait, what do you mean by 'if I actually liked you?' Why would I confess to you if I didn't like you?" JungKook questions, not getting her explanation. Lisa sighed before explaining it to him.

"You like Nancy, JungKook. It's obvious, even I knew that when we first started dating. I knew I was just some sort of distraction for you and u was okay with that, just as long as you wouldn't get hurt." Lisa told him, shocking him.

"I-I like... Nancy?" He said, more like a question than a statement, making Lisa nod, "N-No, I don't! She's my... B-best friend... And she has Dino-"

"You like Nancy, JungKook." Lisa interrupts him, "And Nancy likes you. I was just some sort of 'rebound'. Sadly, Dino is too and he knows that."

In fact, Lisa did talk to Dino during the week. He was reluctant at first but once he knew why she wanted to talk, he started cooperating.

Flashback

"So your not together anymore?" Dino asks Lisa, who explained everything to him.

"Well, not yet but I'm breaking up with him soon." She admitted.

"So why are you telling me this?" He asks her, not getting what she's trying to do.

"It's obvious that JungKook likes Nancy and that she likes him too." Lisa says, making Dino finally get it, "I know you like her too but are you and Nancy really together?"

"Kind of, not really..." Dino admitted, looking down in embarrassment, "I suggested that we fake it so she won't get annoyed by you and JungKook. I had a tiny hope that she would maybe like me back but I know it won't happen."
