Sneaking out can be tricky when your sister is overprotective and a police officer. Lyra came home later than the curfew the police had enforce because time didn't really cross her mind at the time. Opening the door quietly, Quinn was sitting on the couch in the dark, staring at her little sister sneak back in.
Millions of made-up excuses ran through her mind but she couldn't find the correct words to tell her sister. Lyra had to sit through a thirty-minute lecture about responsibility and safety that Quinn had probably rehearsed. But if the brunette were honest, she didn't regret it one bit. Allison and her had bonded through the three hour they spent together, they were had more in common than they thought.
One thing that surprised her was that her sister allowed her to watch the school lacrosse game that week.
"Are you gonna watch it with me?" Lyra asked her sister. Quinn sat on the brunettes bed watching her rummage her closet for an outfit.
"When my shift ends, the games probably finished already."
"Fine."
Quinn had to leave for her shift early, leaving her to cycle in the cold night. The bleachers were already filled with students, teachers and parents. She sat in one of the empty spots, waiting for the game to start.
She had spotted Allison seating beside Lydia, thinking best not to join in. She and Allison have been talking over the phone frequently since their time at the mall. She knew Allison hasn't talked about her or mention her in anyway in front of Lydia.
A part of Lyra was hurt by this. She thought Allison was embarrassed to be acquainted with someone like her. But she also felt important. She was like a secret the raven-haired girl kept, all to herself. Her mixed feelings towards Allison was all she could think of since she hadn't notice the game was beginning.
The players began take place on the field. The whistle was blown and the ball was passed around amongst the players. Star player, number 37 tackled his own teammate before scoring a goal. The crowd stood up cheering at the first score. Lyra didn't particularly know how lacrosse works but she knows you're not suppose to tackle your own teammates.
