"I'm sorry but we're closed."

Lyra woke up to hear Deaton and a man talking. She could barely figure out what they were talking about as she was still tired from sleeping in a weird position on the tiny chair. The brunette stayed behind at the vet, waiting for Scott to heal up but fell asleep the moment she closed her eyes.

"Mountain ash. That's an old one." Just as he finished his sentence he turned and threw a coffee table to the wall across from him. Lyra jumped up and took out her dagger on instinct.

"Let me be clear as possible. We are closed." said Deaton with a strong tone in his voice. The man adjusted his leather jacket before turning his heel to the exit.

"Hello Lyra." The man finally noticed who the girl was. The brunette only gripped her dagger tighter at his greeting. The man furrowed his brows at sight of her dagger.

"Oh, come now. Put your play toy away." He took a step forward and whispered, "Orphan." He gripped onto her wrist holding the dagger harshly and squeezed her wrist tighter causing her to drop the dagger onto the floor.

"Let go of her, Peter." Deaton said firmly. Lyra never broke eye contact with Peter, never winced when he tightened his gripped. She couldn't be seen weak, she had to be strong like her mother.

Peter smirked and released her wrist from his grip, walking towards the door. He stopped and mumbled words before leaving. Deaton rushed over to Lyra and pulled her leather jacket sleeve upwards to inspect her wrist. A dark red mark was left on her dainty wrist.

"Thanks."

Lyra applied the ice pack Dr Deaton gave her onto her bruised wrist as she sat on the metal table, dangling her feet. Scott left shortly after Peter walked out which left Deaton and Lyra alone in the vet.

"I assume your name is Lyra." Deaton stated, assuming correct since he heard the entire conversation between her and Peter.

"Yeah, Lyra Jean Gray." She replied, wincing when she twisted her wrist wrongly. Lyra had been present when Scott woke up. She wasn't close to him but she felt comfort in seeing him doing well.
