OMG this is not a star plus show? Yes Lavanya did watch a little beyond Star Plus. I hopped on the Naagin 5 train late like in November.
Anyway.....in general, Naagin (2015-2021) is about shape-shifting women a.k.a icchadhari naagins who shape-shift into humans to avenge someone's death.
They normally just end up falling in love.
Naagin 5 (2020-2021) is about how the AdiNaagin reincarnate along with the cheel who was obsessed with her and the Adinaag to seek revenge for the past life on the cheel and reunite with her lover but in the new era, the story has changed, people have changed and they are not what they seem to be.
I don't watch supernatural shows. I feel Indian TV don't do much justice to them but I will admit Ekta did a good job with Naagin 5, even though she did a good job with the supernatural show, Naagin 5 does have its sweet parts and salty parts.
Now let's get down to the basics:
Naagin 5: The sweet:
Vani - Veer and Bani's Jodi was cute
Veer and Jai arguing over Bani and Bani having to sort them out like they are little kids
Meera-Tapish they are a really sweet Jodi, I wish they were explored a bit more though
I like things to do with reincarnation, I don't know but I think shows should do more about reincarnation
Veer's funny playboy sweet character, I love Veer, Sharad did so much justice with his character
Meera and Bani's bond - it was cute how Bani could tell Meera almost everything
The tandav...I love the tandav scenes
The farishta, right so Arjit Taneja who played the farishta was adorable and super cute and yes don't be surprised that I loved him a lot, I am following him on insta....he is so dreamy
I like how they introduced cheels to the story. I was familiar with some bits of the other Naagin stories so I knew that no cheels were introduced till season 5
Every episode each weekend has its different twist and turns
Naagin 5: The Salty:
I feel the plot was too rushed. Arre Ekta, relax yaar, take it slowly, it's a weekend show not a daily show so you don't have to rush it
The ending...the ending just doesn't work with me, I didn't like it much
Do Veer's family and Meera die in the end too?
I felt like how in the other seasons, they should have brought back some of the old naagins in the end
I think Bani could feel a little bit of guilt when Veer was being so sweet to her after finding out her truth
They should have shown Bani being more and more powerful than the previous naagins since she is an Adinaagin
Markat....I felt she was better when she was first introduced and I need more clarification on her being a mother to both Veer and Jay and why Balwant locked her up in the basement? Like why the basement? A little flashback of Veer's childhood would be nice
More about the Markat....can we have a proper backstory please?
When Balwant's brother died, no one even realised....bechara Balwant's brother, no one knew he died
More insight into Bani maybe trying to stop the illegal business Balwant owned
I feel there needed to be a focused plot like Bani slowly forgets about why she wants to seek revenge
***
This would have been longer but I started watching Naagin 5 quite late. I feel though that it was rushed too much and there are so many questions left unanswered.
I'd rate Naagin 5 6/10....Sharad and Arjit live rent-free in my heart.
