Yes yes I'm back. No I didn't die. I know you all missed my rants :)
Sooooooo Yeh Hai Mobahhatein (2013-2019) was about two individuals Raman and Ishita, who love each other, face several issues in their relationship as they try to overcome the obstacles life throws at them and hope to strengthen their bond.
We've all grown up with Ekta's dramas. Don't even disagree with me because you all know that I am right.
Now this was actually my mum's, well one of my mum's late night shows that she'd watch when she THINKS her children were sleeping. Yes I am the kid who never slept, the amount of sleep I actually got in my life is below 0, it's in the negative numbers. I used to see the show sometimes and sometimes get sneak peeks through my mum's bedroom door. It's reairing now cuz lockdown so I have seen it.
Now let's get to the basics, the sweet and the salty....
YHM: The Sweet
Raman and Ishita's banter....their banter is everything, cheers me up on a bad day.
The Punjabi-Tamilian fights 😂😂😂 in short Santoshi and Madhu's constant arguing
Ruhi and her Ishimaa's bond...that was the best bit of the show. Ruhi loved Ishita more than her real mother which is proof that you don't have to give birth to be a mother.
The fact that it explored miscarriage, surrogacy, infertility and being a step-parent...you know some of the things that are what's the word TABOO to an Indian society or society in general cuz society is FUCKED UP!
It showed the positive side of a step-parent. See we grow up with fairytales so we've grown with Snow White and Cinderella only to be convinced that step-parents particularly step-mothers are horrible people. YHM proves to people that step-mothers can be mothers and they are not horrible.
Adi-Aliya...one of my many ships.
That scene when Vidyut a cricketer comes and then the men decide that they want a break from their wives 😂😂😂
Basically every time the men decide they need a break from their wives
Raman wearing a superhero outfit
Mani...❤️He is really such a sweetheart
Little Ruhi 😍she was such a cutie
Everyone got their screen space and justice
YHM: The Salty:
Ekta really has a habit of bringing in old villains again and again and again. Eg Nidhi and Ashok
When Param made Ishita tie rakhi on him....
Simmi turning evil
Ananya's death...why would you kill a child?
Some unwanted twists that distracts people from the real point....FINDING LOVE AFTER BROKEN AND A STEPMOTHER-CHILD BOND!
Roshni and Adi...I know for a FACT that the baby in Roshni's womb WAS NOT ADI'S CHILD! ROSHNI IS JUST A BITCH!
Adi's death
Rohan....I am sorry but I never liked this Rohan, Karan their mother track, it was too much!
When the plot decided to change from stepmother and finding love again to Ruhi's entire love story.
WHEN THEY CHANGED THE ACTRESS OF SANTOSHI! It ruined the charm of Santoshi's character
Some things just didn't make sense.
Yug. He pissed me off.
...
So overall I rate YHM 5/10. It was great till things got complicated with Roshni etc. The show lost its comedy charm and the charm overall.
