Soooooo let's rant about producers since I am too lazy to analysis a show right now.
Gul Khan:
Well-Known Shows: Geet, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? and Ishqbaaz
Current on-air shows: Imlie and Namak Ishq Ka
The sweet things about her shows: the quality that it's shot in, like it looks so proper HD. The show starts out great. Creates couples that we adore. She does get good-looking actors in her shows I won't lie. did show some issues like PDA but.....
The salty things about her shows: she doesn't know how to handle some issues properly eg molestation track, it's a delicate topic if you get what I mean. Such tracks need to be handled carefully since maybe someone who was a victim of molest was watching that show and is still traumatised....TRAUMA DOESN'T GET SOLVED IN A CLICK OF A FINGER! She only knows how to manage one couple. She can't manage two let alone three couples. Sometimes her shows make me question logic. My mum watched the Kufli wala show and Gul just playing with the father-daughters bond like every damn time I switched the channel to Star Plus or I need to check to see if my mum got my text message, I see Kulfi crying, Amyra being bitter and Sikander....well Sikander being weak. Season 2 of her shows are so bad, like so bad...examples include Ishqbaaz season 2 with the new generation and I heard that Nazar season 2 was bad. Also why is it always the man that needs to be rich and the woman poor? It's almost as if a poor woman marrying a rich man ends all her life's miseries? Yaar should I just find a rich guy in that case? Can two normal middle class people marry or is that a crime Gul?
Gul's shows have potential, she just needs to get a better scriptwriter and maybe attend some fancy abroad entertainment industry academy and maybe attend some pilgrimage to get logic in her brain.
Ekta Kapoor:
Well-Known Shows: Hum Paanch, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Pavitra Rishta, Naagin and Kasautii Zindagi Kay (original one)
Current on-air shows: KumKum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Molkki, Brahmarakshas 2, Prem Bandhan and Kuch Toh Hai **sighing in relief after finding all the current shows**
The sweet things about her shows: she gives attention to the other characters of the story along with the mains, the plots of her shows are great, popular vamps like Komolika **her theme tune plays in the background**, adorable child artists, great couples and she can easily get viewers hooked.
The salty things about her shows: sometimes she gets carried away with plot twists and though she has great villains, the repetition of her villains get annoying. Also random causal reincarnation eg....
"Arre Kabirji, I thought that you died after falling off the cliff. We did your last rites, your body burnt in front of my eyes"
"Voh actually Preeti, the body that burnt was a fake body that my mastermind friend made. I had to fake my death for **inserts totally random believable reason**"
Or another scenario
"They thought that they killed me but even death is scared of me now look, I will destroy their lives by first getting a new face so they don't suspect anything. Plastic surgery is cheap right?"
Anyway back to the salty, the good plots get ruined in order to lengthen the show, saas-bahu dramas, again there are middle class girls-rich guy scenarios but at least she does include two middle class people. Lack of consistency and constant separations. Endings of her shows are rushed.
Soo overall Ekta shows are a bit more better than Gul's shows in the sense that if she produced Ishqbaaz, she'd pay attention to all three couples but I think there'd be a lot of separations. Chalo separation is better than questioning logic. Ekta please cast KJ and SP together, I beg. Ekta's shows has potential but she needs to see k-drama and Pakistani dramas to see how over-exgarating is not needed. Also maybe if she put more attention to her TV shows like on her web series, they'd be better cuz I heard her web series are great.
Rajan Shahi:
Well-Known Shows: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke
Current on-air shows: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Anupamaa and Aai Kuthe Kay Karte
The sweet things about his shows: he displays social issues which is great, he has great characters, he introduce these couples we love and includes others' love stories too.
The salty things about his shows: he is running out of plots for YRKKH, his shows easily lose their charm like Anupamaa was so damn good and now it is just all about divorce and people being against it. His shows get super confusing and he does constant leaps and separations. Also death is a joke in his shows and he used to focus on other couples but now he doesn't. At least Anupamaa remains a family drama but can it be hurried to Anupamaa being independent, like proper independent? His shows drag for a long time example Kartik and Naira's separation drama will last 11 months then they unite then 2 months later they break apart.
Rajan Shahi needs to stop dragging his shows and I would say more and write more on other producers but my back suddenly starting hurting so I gotta go and get some medicine. Hope you all liked this.
Also just wondering - Netflix, where is my reality show contract? I am sure people would like a show of me explaining about Indian daily soap operas and what is bad and good about them. I am still waiting for my contract.
