"Are those the earrings?" Hazel asked.
Chloe pulled up her socks before looking up at her, a smile spreading instantly across her face. "Yes" she said and nodded excitedly. "I should wear them, right?"
Beth nodded eagerly. "Oh, definitely. Show him you like them."
"Show him you like him" Hazel giggled, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
Chloe rolled her eyes, taking off the dangly earrings she'd been wearing and took the clef shaped gold ones from Hazel to put them on. "Who says I do?" She asked.
Hazel rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. We all know it."
Chloe's eyes widened and she looked back and forth between them. "Who?" She asked, her voice growing as she was slightly alarmed that maybe everyone was talking about her, maybe even to him.
Beth laughed. "Just us two" she said. "Don't listen to her."
"I'm joking, don't worry, Chlo. And they're boys, they don't see anything, not even if it's right in front of their face."
"Don't underestimate Alex" Chloe said. "They're not all like that. He's really observant and really clever. I mean, have you listend to his lyrics? And he's noticed so many things about me that I didn't think he'd remember."
Hazel and Beth exchanged a look, making Chloe groan in annoyance. "I hate you guys!"
"Hate me enough to do not have me do your make up?" Hazel asked.
"No, not that much" Chloe sighed. "But please, not too much. I just want ... some glitter on the eyes and for my skin to be shiny, that's all."
Hazel smirked. "You got it."
Chloe pulled on her black dress and turned for Beth to zip it up. "Thanks."
"You have to help me with mine too" Beth sighed. "I swear, my arse got ten times bigger over Christmas."
"That's not true" Chloe said, rolling her eyes. "You'll look amazing." She put on one of her golden necklaces before brushing her fingers through her hair.
Hazel had already finished getting dressed and headed into the bathroom with her huge make up bag. "Chloe first?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm dressed already" she said, following her and sitting down on the edge of the bathtub, tying back her hair and closing her eyes to let Hazel work on her face.
"Help, please!" Beth called from Chloe's room before stumbling into the bathroom, trying to zip up her dress on the side.
Hazel laughed and stepped away from Chloe for a moment so she could help. "I think it'll fit" she said encouragingly.
Chloe nodded in agreement and held the end of the zipper together before pulling it up, basically trapping Beth in the dress.
"Yes!" Beth said, clapping her hands, dancing happily back into Chloe's room. "Hurry up, it's my turn soon and I want more than just sparkly eyes and glowy skin!"
"I'm almost done" Hazel said, spraying Chloe's face after gesturing for her to close her eyes. "Perfect! Look."
She held a mirror up to Chloe who opened her eyes again and smiled, closing one eye to look at the make up. "Thank you, Hazel" she said happily. Chloe headed back to her room while Beth went to get her make up done by Hazel.
"You think a lot of people are going to be there?" Chloe called as she pulled on the wolly black knee socks over her tights as she figured they'd go out and watch the fireworks so it was smart to at least wear two layers on her legs.
