Alex had always hated the annoying sound his alarm clock made. He had gotten it for his birthday when he'd turned six, ready for school, someone who had to be up at a certain time now and whose parents felt he was old enough to not be woken up by them anymore.

But what he hated even more, was Chloe's alarm clock. The shrill sound was higher, even more obnoxious than his own at home that was burned into his mind as one of the most hated sounds in the world and he'd been sure there was nothing worse. Until he had slept over at Chloe's house on a school night for the first time and learned that the opposite was the case, the hard way.

The upside to Chloe's cute pink alarm clock with white dots that suggested it was not even capable of something as terrible as Alex's, it actually woke you up. His own alarm, Alex could slam his hand down on and it would ring back up seven minutes later. And he could do it again and again until he either decided to actually get up, or went back to sleep to the point where his mum actually did have to wake him.

Chloe's on the other hand was so loud and on a frequency Alex was sure he'd never even heard anything else on before that you were simply forced out of slumber. Fortunately, Chloe propped herself up to turn it off and for her clock, this meant that it would not ring back up again. Because frankly, there really was no need to. It was like it crawled into your brain and switched it on, locking that switch in.

Alex let out a sigh of relief when the sound stopped and Chloe shuffled back down under the covers, wrapping her arm around him again and resting her head against his shoulder, cuddling close and pressing a little lingering kiss to his jaw.

He sighed, squeezing her gently with his arms wrapped around her again. "I hate tha' stupid fing, Chlo..." he muttered, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, her hair smelling like coconut and lime. She had a new shampoo.

"I know" she sighed. "It's the only thing that gets me up in the morning though" she giggled. "Especially when I slept late, like last night."

"Mmmm and whose fault was tha', love?"

She gasped at his suggestion. "Yours!" She laughed. "Yours alone, Al! You seduced me."

Alex chuckled, running his fingers through her hair. "Tha's not 'ow I remember it, love."

Chloe rolled her eyes at him but snuggled closer to his side, draping her leg across his and pressing her nose against his cheek. "You're lucky I love you" she teased, kissing his cheek softly. He was so warm and soft and she couldn't help but press herself closer to him under the covers, feeling so comfy and toasty in their tiny little bubble.

Alex sighed softly. "I love yeh too, Chlo..." he said. His voice was husky, still thick with sleep. "Mmm, yeh're so warm..." He hummed. "I'm so comfeh..."

"Me too" she said with a happy smile, snuggling up to him and nestling her face between his jaw and his shoulder. "I don't even want to get up."

Alex hummed, squeezing her gently in his arms and pulling her in and she shifted so she was lying on top of him but holding herself up a little to not rest all her weight on him. "Good."

Chloe giggled. "Oh, no, mister, we're still getting up. I still have to pack."

He sighed dramatically. "I've alreadeh packed..." he said.

"Well" she laughed. "I would have packed yesterday too but ... whoooo stopped me?"

Alex giggled, burying his face in her hair. "Guilteh..." he giggled.

"What do you think?" Chloe asked. "Should I bring this?" She held the dress in front of her body so he could get a sense of what it looked like if she actually had it on.
