14 | Special's Battle (T)

In amidst of igniting thrill, the battle that was about to reach the climax in the place where nature is watching. Leaves and grasses are dancing at the strong wind circulating to the place, with a mixture of black mists as if a virus to the clean atmosphere, the reason of shock and surprise from the people completing the quest on Hinea as they couldn't believe it.

Everyone saw what happened, and even the two, Kierra and Nate, couldn't move from the sudden petrification that engulfed their body, pulling them through the deepest part of hell that there's no coming back to the surface. Seeing that power brought life to the sleeping fear that they haven't felt for years, which only from the girl who couldn't control her abilities and is now somehow looks terrified too.

It's somehow familiar, I've seen it already. Kierra thought as she gazes through the girl who's her opponent for today. It reminds her of Calixus's power, the second strongest in their academy aside from Kael, who's Nate is fighting.

This happening caused Kierra to remember their Preliminaries last year when the whole gymnasium was suddenly occupied by dark clouds and mists that reminds them of the feeling of being caged with nothingness; and before they knew it, Calixus almost destroyed the whole gymnasium by thunderous blasts that emerged from the dark clouds itself. It was frightful, but the fear Kierra is feeling right now is much greater than what she felt that day.

Kierra couldn't move her attack as the mists are surrounding Xiel, protecting her from the harm Kierra is about to do. But what shocked her is when the woman seemed to be clueless, as Xiel opened her eyes that in Kierra's view, a surprise could be seen at the way her eyes widened as she roams her gaze to her surroundings.

Mas lumala ang takot na nararamdaman ni Kierra dahil sa aura na biglang pumalibot sa paligid nang idinilat nito ang kanyang mata. Mas malala. Mas nakakatakot. Mas nakakapanindig-balahibo.

Kierra thought something's going to happen, that she's already bracing herself for her defeat that she's already thinking ahead before the duel starts, after all, their enemy is Kael, but then, the girl suddenly lost consciousness that shocks her to the core, seeing how Xiel slowly lost her balance and her powers leisurely disappear like a cloud of smoke that's becoming transparent.

And Nixon Kaellus Vail is there to catch the Princess.

No one seen him with the action he created, that even Nate who's facing Kaellus was shocked at his sudden disappearance; that in just a blink of an eye, he's already at the place of Kaia Xiel that he carried him in his arms carefully, like a most treasured thing he doesn't want to break.

And for the first time, Kierra who doesn't believe in fairytales, had a change of mind that time. As to how the light from the trees moved passed through the small opening, the dimmed and secluded place was replaced into a magical visual as to how the sunlight gave enough flares to the man who carried the woman as if she's the Princess, and this is her story.

Time seemed to be in slow motion as both Nate and Kierra watched how Kaellus brought the woman into the nearest tree, with every step, the wind keeps whispering on their ears as to how perfect those two with each other.

“She's out,” Kael commented as soon that he placed the girl under the tree where Kierra saw a handkerchief on its trunk with something inside it. But then, her gaze transferred and locked to how the Prince lay the Princess carefully as if she's something precious, something that she never saw from her childhood friend, Nixon Kaellus Vail Lockéhart.

Nate was watching Kierra's expression all the time as he smiled bitterly before closing the huge distance that they have with each other, as before he teased her to hide something he's feeling so deep.
