"Then...Who's the lucky guy?"Tsutako asked.
"Wait..So. You're not angry?" Giyuu asked.
"No? Why would I be mad! I'll support you no matter what!" Tsutako yelled.
"It's a guy at my school...His name is Rengoku." Giyuu said.
"Ahh...So what would you like to learn?" Tsutako asked.
"Uh...sweet potatoes and sat grilled bream. " Giyuu said.
"Alright! I know how to make that. My husband is a cook anyways. It would be kind of embarrassing if I didn't know that." Tsutako exclaimed.
They head into the kitchen, Tsutako got all the ingredients out and decided to teach sweet potatoes first.
"Red and orange sweet potatoes are often labeled as "yams" at the grocery store which is actually inaccurate. True yams are starchier and drier than sweet potatoes with a thick and fibrous skin." Tsutako explained.
"Oh wow. Really?" Giyuu explained.
"I recommend skipping tan or purple-skinned sweet potatoes known as the dry varieties and sticking with orange or red-skinned sweet potatoes. Those are actually sweeter and creamier."
"Wow. I never knew that choosing potatoes was so confusing." Giyuu said, confused.
"Alright, so first step, peel this potato. " Tsutako said.
Giyuu did as said, although it didn't look that nice since this was his first time cooking.
" Then cut the sweet potato into equal 1/2 inch rounds."
Giyuu did as said.
"Third step, cut the potatoes and try to get them roughly the same size. Then throw them in with the seasoning"
Giyuu threw the potatoes into the pot with the seasoning, but a few rolled out. Tsutako giggled at the look of Giyuu and grabbed a mop to clean it up. Giyuu looked at Tsutako's face and started laughing as well. soon enough, the tiny giggles and smiles turned into a full-on laughing fit.
The weekend passed, and Giyuu had already mastered the recipe of sweet potatoes, as he went back to the dorms, excited to cook it for Rengoku someday.
