Chapter 9: The Antidote

Eefa gets the two antidotes ready and looks at Resus and Cleo, "I need you two to hold Luke and Sam still while I give the the antidotes." Cleo gets some bandages and she and Resus split up, then Cleo makes a lasso and uses it to hold Luke and Resus uses his side to hold Sam and the two monsters struggle. Eefa opens the first bottle and gives it to Luke, which was a little hard when he struggled. 

He nearly choked but swallowed the liquid, then Eefa does the same to Sam, making sure they finished what was in their mouth, "Okay, let them go!" Resus and Cleo release them and then somehow, Luke grabs the bars and bends them, making an opening big enough for him to escape, Sam following behind him. 

Luke looks around, growling and sees Resus backing away. He roars and starts going after him, making Resus run and Sam goes after Cleo. The two run and then Resus and Cleo circle back, making Luke and Sam run into one another. President McDread and Otto Sneer came running from the ghost train station. "Carla already escaped Scream Street. She must've known we were onto her," McDread said to the parents. 

Prim growls, "Great." She looks at Eefa, "How long does the antidote take to kick in?" Eefa looks back at Sam and Luke and gasps. They were prowling onto the group, ready to pounce. Eefa looks at everyone, "Scatter!" Everyone scatters, Luke and Sam growling and running after one person then going after another. Luke was chasing after Otto before going after Resus again, suddenly cornering him and Sam had cornered Cleo.

Resus was trapped, and he shakes, "L-Luke...please...don't do th- AAAHHH!!" He felt a pain on his arm and saw Luke was biting him. Sam pounces onto Cleo and the two tussle a bit before Sam bit Cleo's leg hard, tearing some bandages. Cleo yells, her eyes watering from the pain, then something causes the werewolf and panther to release. Luke and Sam get on all fours and they back away from the vampire and mummy, whimpering. Resus holds his wound, "Luke?" Luke runs away and Sam was cowering at Cleo, backing away. Cleo bandages Resus's wound before bandaging her own and Eefa watches the two run, "The antidote is kicking in. We have to follow them" 

Everyone goes after them and Prim gasps. Luke and Sam were heading for the gate to the Underlands. Mr. and Mrs. Watson call to Luke, "Luke! No!" Luke looks at his parents, shaking. They slowly approach him and Mrs. Watson touches her son's cheek. Prim pets her niece and Resus and Cleo comfort their friends.

Luke covers his face and then a gunshot was heard and he looks up, seeing Carla Black with her tranquilizer gun, "Thought I would run off already?" President McDread looks at her, "Carla Black, you are attempting a kidnapping. We know what your plan is. Leave Scream Street or we will do it by force."

She backs away as everyone starts gaining up on her and then she pulls out a revolver and everyone freezes. Carla pants, "Nobody move! I will leave, nobody follow me! I really do NOT want to do this." A roar and a growl were heard and Luke and Sam charge at Carla. She runs and they follow and trap her by circling her.

Everyone watches and Resus looks, "What's going on?" Luella gasps, "They're fighting together instead of fighting each other. The antidote worked!" Resus cheers and then gasps when the growling intensifies. Luke and Sam pounce but Carla dodges and they hit each other hard. Sam shakes off and runs after Carla, who was running towards the the ghost train station. Luke follows behind and he grabs Carla's leg and she struggles.

Carla, frightened, pulled the trigger a few times, scaring Luke and Sam. She runs away and she went through the train and never came back. No one else got hurt by the shots and Cleo pants, "Is everyone okay?" Everyone nods and Sam pants and she looks at Luke and the two fall to the ground. Mr. and Mrs. Watson run to their son and Prim runs to her niece and gasp. 

Both were shot in the shoulder and blood oozed from the wound. Mrs. Watson takes off her scarf and puts pressure on the wound, Luke growling softly and he and Sam start turning back to normal. Prim holds her niece, her hand covered in blood as she tried to stop the bleeding, "No no no please...I can't lose you..." Tears fall down her face, looking at her niece's wounded face and body.

Luke looks at his parents and the two start losing consciousness. Eefa runs to the parents and Resus and Cleo watch in fear. Sam closes her eyes and Luke's vision gets blurry as he watches his parents pick him up. He looks over at Sam, seeing Prim carrying her and following. He softly mutters under his breath to Sam, "S-Sam..." She heard him weakly and turns her head slowly. They lose consciousness, seeing nothing but darkness.
