Dominance

Chapter 2: Small Fight

A week later after the accident, Luke sits at his desk at school. He looked normal and fine, but inside, he had this strange feeling. Sam sat behind him, doodling in her journal and staying quiet. "That's strange," Luke thought, "She usually is humming or talking to someone." He turns to look at her and she looks back and the two had a staring contest. Dixon lowered his magazine, "You two look like you're gonna kiss." He snickers and Luke stares at him, then he and Sam growl viciously, causing Dixon to hide behind his magazine.

Resus looked at Sam and Luke funny, "I knew you two can be vicious but those growls sounded twice as vicious, like you two are fighting over a carcass." Luke looks at him, "I think mine was a little louder than kitty over here." Sam growls, "You're one to talk, wolf boy." The two start snarling at each other, looking like they want to fight. Before any trouble started, Dr. Skully came in and stopped them, "Not on the school grounds, you two." Luke and Sam turn away from each other and school starts.

After school, Luke and the others went to the graveyard and hang out. Sam sits on a tombstone and looks at Luke and he looks back at her, both looking angry. Cleo watches and she gets concerned, "Ever since that potion blew up in your faces, literally, you two have seemed distant and seem like you want to hurt one another." Sam looks at her, "It feels like there seems to be tension that needs to be settled." Luke growls at her, "Please, if we got in a fight, I would beat you."

Sam approaches him, her hands now fists, "Is that a challenge?" Luke stands and the two get in each other's face, snarling and their eyes had changed already. Cleo and Resus hold them back and pull them away from each other. Resus gets a little scared, "This isn't like you two. Something in that potion is causing you both to want to fight one another." Luke and Sam growl and Cleo and Resus get them to the emporium. 

Cleo goes to Eefa, "Hey Eefa, we need a little help. Luke and Sam had a little accident last week when a potion blew up in their face and now they are wanting to fight one another, like animals in the wild or something." Eefa takes a look at Luke and Sam, who were still growling and sitting down. Eefa looks in the book and finds the spell, "It must've been a spell that could give any animal its own instincts. In Luke and Sam's case, both are very strong, but the animal side of their mind takes over, making them think there can only be one true alpha." 

Resus gasps and Cleo covers her mouth as Eefa continues, "We may need to make an antidote to reverse this, but it will take time. You two must prevent them from fighting because if they fight so much, the next battle might be a fight to the death." Cleo shakes, "Y-you mean...they might..." "Kill one another?" finished Resus and Eefa nods and the two whimper. They didn't want to lose their friends to a death battle of dominance. 

Resus looks at Eefa, "How much time do we have before that happens?" Eefa shrugs, "I don't know, but you just need to prevent them from killing each other until the antidote is done." Cleo and Resus nod and the take Luke and Sam back home. After a while, Luke calms at his house and Sam calms at hers. Resus lays in his coffin, worried, "Taming a werewolf and werecat? A challenge...but I can't lose my friends. I can't risk it." He closes his eyes and sleeps, not hearing Luke toss and turn in his bed, snarling and growling.
