It had been nearly a month since they spoke to each other about what had happened. At first, it was an awkward atmosphere between the two, but eventually, it died down on both ends. Adam was more nonchalant about the matter than Andy was, but she learned to move on from distracting thoughts and focus on the matter, which helped her catch up on the work they were given, and actually work on everything else. It was October 10th, Halloween was coming, and to that very occasion, Andy was approached by an excited Jennifer.

“Andy!” She screeched, nearly running into her.

“Calm down, Sonic.” Andy stared at the redhead curiously, “What?”

“Shut up, look!” Jennifer stuffed a poster in Andy’s face, which Andy took and looked at.

It was a Halloween poster that informed the reader of a party held by the school and student council organizers. They were asking for volunteers to help set up for the big party on the 31st in the school gym.

“We can help out! And dress up, it’ll be extremely fun, there will be cool music and even cooler costumes, plus some of the teachers will be dressing up too, that’ll be a thing to remember. We’ll have so much fun planning the outfits, I can’t wait-“

“Jennifer. Jennifer, breathe,” Andy interrupted, “I never said I was going. I might volunteer but I’m not gonna go.”

Jennifer’s face immediately washed over with disappointment, “What are you talking about? The one night we get to have fun and be cool freaks and creep kids and make satanic rituals – how can you pass anything like that up?”

Jennifer was the type of girl that would be typical, teenage girl by day, and badass villain at night. When the occasion came, she knew how to handle it, and with Halloween, the girl went crazy every year with fantastic costumes, and Andy would follow. This time, however, it seemed different.

“I’m just not feeling the vibe,” Andy confessed, shrugging it off.

“But you always go. You’re probably just on your period, which is a shame because that would have helped.”

“Jennifer!”

“Okay, so we wouldn’t have used it like that, but still, you would be grumpy enough to make a real werewolf.”

“Jennifer.”

“A vampire? Though it’d be creepy, drinking your own-“

“JENNIFER.”

The girl’s eyes went wide like a puppy’s and she shrugged, turning towards her locker. “Your loss, babe.”

Andy stared at her in disbelief and let out an exasperated chuckle. “Sometimes I wonder just what makes you human.”

“Human? Well that’s no fun. At least I’m a monster in bed, according to Keith.”

A laugh erupted between the girls before two arms slunk their way around Jennifer. “Ah, speak of the devil.”

“And I’d be tempted to go see her,” replied Keith, giving Jennifer a kiss on the cheek. “How are you girls doing?”

“Halloween’s on the way, what do you think? This bummer here doesn’t want to go.” Jennifer added, hoping that her boyfriend might be able to add some consolation.

“Andy,” he whined, “Don’t be such an egg. Show everyone the chick you really are!”

“As painful as that was, I’m going to go hide in my eggshell now.” Andy turned to walk away and Jennifer pulled her by the hoodie.
