At the hospital they put me in an awkward blue gown and strapped my wrist with a white bracelet complete with my name, birthday, and today's date after drawing at least eight full gallons of my blood. Now I am in a dull hospital bed hooked up to a water IV with a tray of crackers on my lap.

Ricky is asleep on the chair to the right of me and the television above the cupboards plays an old soap opera from the seventies or something. The door creaks open as a short lady with orange hair enters holding a clipboard.

"Hi, I will be your nurse. My name is Jill and you can signal me with the red button on the side of your bed. Do you need anything at the moment?"

Ricky sits up and wipes the sleep out of his eyes with his palms. "I am good for now, thank you." I smile as Jill nods and scribbles something on her clipboard.

"Alright, the doctor will be in your room in about five minutes." Jill looks down at my stomach which makes me a bit uncomfortable. Then she meets my eyes and asks, "Is there a chance you are pregnant...?" She glares at Ricky.

He exchanges glances with me before we both respond, "No."

She marks something on her clipboard and walks towards the door. Jill turns on her heel and says, "I wish you two the best of luck." Then she leaves.

I switch my focus to Ricky. "It is food poisoning... Right?"

"That's what they told me over the phone. It'll be okay." He reaches over and puts his hand on mine. "I promise."

"Okay." I let out a long sigh. "I am just so nervous! I don't know what to do!"

"Quinn, deep breaths. You are fine. After this I'll take you home and make you a meal and we could watch movies all night long..." Ricky raises an eyebrow at me like he's asking for permission.

I nod and smile. "That sounds perfect."
