Chapter 5

Cheryl wakes up after hearing something from downstairs. Cheryl moves away from Toni without waking her up. The redhead grabs the bat from the corner of Toni's bedroom, and heads downstairs. Cheryl peeks around the corner and sees a man.

"Who the fuck are you?!" Cheryl yells in anger ready to hit this man.

The strange man turns around. "Fuck, I didn't think anybody was home." He said.

"Don't make me ask you again, who the fuck are you?" Cheryl asked again. 

"Uncle Doug?" Toni asked from the top of the stairs.

Doug smiles at her. "Hey, Toni." 

"Uncle D, what are you doing here?" Toni asked coming down the steps to hug him.

Doug hugs back. "I found the key under the mat, your mom saw me as she was pulling off." 

Toni pulls away. "Oh, um Uncle Doug this is my girl Cheryl." Toni said wrapping her arms around Cheryl.

Cheryl gives him a small smile. "Hey." Cheryl said.

Doug frowns. "You must be a Blossom." Doug said crossing his arms.

"Yeah, so what?" Cheryl asked gripping the bat tighter. 

"You're dating a Blossom?" Doug asked in surprise. 

Toni rolls her eyes. "So? I can date whoever I want to date. I don't care if Cheryl's a Blossom Uncle Doug. If you're going to talk about her then you can leave." Toni said pointing at the door.

Doug grunts. "So, what are your intensions with my niece?"

"None of your fucking business. Besides I don't need your approval to date Toni, I already got approval from her mom." Cheryl said. 

"What would the family think?" Doug shakes his head.

Toni glares at him. "Like I give a shit about what they think. They're not here anyway, and they talk bad about mom anyway." 

Doug sighs. "Toni her family destroyed ours." 

"What does that have to do with this century? Look, I understand her ancestors destroyed our family, but Cheryl's not like them, she takes care of me and mom. It's not her fault Uncle Doug, the family just want to blame the Blossoms, but you can't blame all of them." Toni told her Uncle. 

Doug scoffs. "Toni, your father is not going to be happy about this." Doug said. 

"Like I care about that man, he wants moms money." Toni said.

The front door opens and Olivia walks in. "Doug? What are you doing here?" Olivia hangs up her purse. 

Toni and Cheryl frown. 

"I thought you said Mama Topaz saw you while she was pulling off?" Cheryl asked hisses. 

"Yeah, Uncle Doug." Toni crosses her arms.

Olivia gasps. "I didn't see you. Did you break into my house?" Olivia takes her phone out to call 911.

"Olivia please. I came because of Jon." Doug said. 

Olivia frowns. "Really? I didn't even know he was back in fucking town.  Let alone you." Olivia said to her brother.

"I have no where to go Livy." Doug told his sister.

"I don't care Doug. Go stay with pop, you're not staying here." Olivia told him sternly.

"You'll let Cheryl stay here, but not your own flesh and blood?" Doug asked angrily.
