Going home was a drag. Once I got home, David put me straight to work. He hid all my school things so that I couldn't practice. He was so mad at me about everything. He pushed me down the stairs a lot more. He made me do every little thing in the house. He could have freed all of our house-elves because I was doing all their jobs.
David told me that we were having guests over tonight so he put me to a lot more work. He made me clean the kitchen, living room, dining room, the guest room, the other guest room, my bedroom, my dad's bedroom, my mom's bedroom, the yard, the place the house-elves stay, and so many other things. The house-elves don't let me clean their area so they let me sit and they made me food. Other than that I have spent the entire day cleaning.
By the time I was done cleaning I heard the doorbell ring. I tried to flatten out the wrinkles in my dress and tried to clear the dirt off. "Teresa, open the door," I heard my dad yell. When I was done with my dress, I opened the door, and to my surprise, it was the Malfoys.
"Good evening," Mrs. Malfoy said.
"Where is your master?" Mr. Malfoy said.
"Master?" I asked.
"That's Mr. Silverstone's daughter, father" Draco said.
"Oh she doesn't clean well," Mr. Malfoy said.
"Ah Lucius," my dad said walking down the stairs.
"So lovely of you to invite us David," Mrs. Malfoy said. As David greeted our guest, I rushed up the stairs and I ran into my mom.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the Malfoys coming," my mom said to me.
"Oh mom, it doesn't matter," I told her.
"You've been talking about Draco to all the house-elves. I may have been listening," my mother told me.
"Well... um... about that. You see-"
"You like that boy," my mom told me.
"Maybe I do, but he embarrassed me," I explained.
"Just talk to him," my mom said. I walked downstairs and I looked at Draco. He looked back at me so I gave him a nod toward the back door.
"Hey dad, I'm going to go outside," Draco said to his dad. He walked toward me so I started to walk out the door. I walked to the middle of the garden then sat down on the bench. Draco came behind me and sat next to me. "So what you wanna talk about?" he asked me.
"Are you sure you didn't tell Pansy about the letter?" I asked him.
"No I didn't, I promise," he said to me.
"Oh okay, I'm sorry," I told him.
"Don't be, that was really mean of her," he said.
"Yeah," I looked down to the ground.
"You have a lot of bruises and scars on our arm," Draco said. He grabbed my arm and I quickly stood up yanking my arm away from him. "Why is your dress dirty?"
I looked down at my dress realizing that I forgot to change. "I like to um, play outside and um, sometimes I um, fall or twigs scrape me," I lied really badly.
"So you're going to lie to me?" he asked kindly.
"Okay fine, I was cleaning the yard,"
"Why?"
"My dad said so, okay," I began to cry.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry," he said with a worried face.
"No it's fine. I should get ready for dinner," I told him. I walked out of the garden but I felt his hand hold around my wrist. He pulled me in for a hug that felt genuine.
"It's going to be okay," he said. I looked up at him and nodded. We both headed in the house and he walked toward the kitchen and I walked up the stairs.
I showered then changed into a nice dress. I rarely dress nicely unless it's for guest. I felt uncomfortable in the dress I wore. I wore dresses almost every day to clean, but only because my dad said that's what nice lady maids are "supposed" to wear. I personally thought that was stupid. If I were going to clean, I wanted to clean in a t-shirt and shorts. The dresses I wore to clean were looser but the dress I had on now was tight.
It was a green lace long sleeve dress and the bottom had four layers making it poof up a bit. I couldn't even feel the last layer with my legs. The top of the dress had to be tied at the waist in the back. I was so happy that the house elves helped me because I would have never been able to do that to myself.
I walked down the stairs and I saw my mom, waiting.
"Mom, are you okay?" I asked her.
"Oh I wanted to make sure you wore the right thing," she said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well I wasn't sure what you were going to put on but I see that you put something nice on," she smiled. "I can also see that you're uncomfortable."
"No it's okay mom, really" I told her. The tied bow in the back was really tight but I didn't mind.
"Okay let's go inside the dining room," we walked into the dining room and David looked pleased for once. I looked at Draco and smiled. He smiled back but his father looked at me and I quickly looked to the ground. I walked to the table and sat next to Draco.
"Well what you're wearing now looks a lot better," Draco's dad said.
"Thank you Mr. Malfoy," I said politely. I figured he was pleased with my politeness because he nodded at me.
I wish I savored the moment I had with Draco today because when I came back to school, he was a whole different Draco to me.

A/N: I know I have to get a good schedule for posting... I usually post when I remember because I have a really busy schedule, but I'll try to remember to post at least once a week.
I'll post the next "chapter" after this. It isn't really a chapter because it just a summary of her second and third year. I wanted to quickly get into her fourth year because that is when a lot more things happen.
