A/N: So the story does start off strong. I'm sorry about that. If anyone wants to talk about any problems they are facing in their lives, I can always talk. The year I turned eleven was said to be the day that would change my life for the better. Mom always told me that when I turn eleven I could leave my awful house and go to Hogwarts, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“Do you think they'll invite me into Hogwarts, mommy?” I asked my mother.
“Of course they'll invite you. You have great talent in magic, I can tell,” she told me confidently.
“What about you mommy?” I asked.
“Oh don't worry about me. You finally get to leave this horrible place and go somewhere magical. You'll love it and forget all about this place,” she told me reassuringly.
“But mom what about Da-”
“I don't want you to worry about me,” my mother said sternly.
“I'm just worried. You would be here all alone with him,” I said in a quiet whisper.
“Like I said, I don't want you to worry about me. I'll be fine. I was able to handle him for this long. A couple of months shouldn’t be a problem,” she said kindly.
“Mom, it's almost a year apart,” I said to her.
“I'll be okay,” she told me.
“Christina you better get downstairs right now,” David called.
“Coming hun,” my mother quickly pecked me on the head and ran out of the room quickly. Again I heard them fighting. I couldn’t understand why they were fighting, but I tried to listen.
“Who said I wanted her going to Hogwarts,” I heard David yell. “Oh common David, don't be so stupid. She was going to get a letter whether I wrote to Dumbledoor to confirm or not,” my mother said. She didn't yell at him, but she spoke loudly. “That girl isn’t going to Hogwarts. I would need her to be here to clean the house,” David yelled. “If Teresa doesn't show up, Dumbledoor will probably be worried,” my mom said. Their voices got softer and I could no longer hear anything they were saying. Not long later, I heard glass breaking, and David's hand slap against my mother’s skin. I began to cry.
My parents are both wizards that met and graduated from Hogwarts. They came from very high ranked pure-blood families that were all Slytherins. My mother is a very sweet lady that cares for everyone, even if she was in Slytherin. David was also a Slytherin that beat up kids for no reason. He’s still that same way now, but he got worse.
My mother tries her best every day to make sure everything is prepped and ready. She helps the house-elves make dinner and clean the house. When any of the staff is sick or just isn't feeling well she lets them take a break. She even made the house-elves a nice place to live in the old garden shed. Sometimes it's hard to believe that my mother grew up learning that mudbloods and blood traitors were bad. She cared for everyone and never cared about anyone's blood-status.
My mother was a lovely woman that helped and supported me through everything. She always got me books to read or just little things when she was ever allowed out of the house. I could stay up late for hours reading all the spell books and the potion books she gave me from her years at Hogwarts. I have studied every spell and almost every potion recipe there was. My favorite book was ‘Hogwarts: A History’ because it talked about the place I wanted to live instead of the house I'm in now.
David was a death eater and a HUGE supporter of You-Know-Who. When Harry Potter was said to defeat You-Know-Who, David was furious. It’s been eleven years and yet David is still mad. He takes his anger out on me and my mother. It's really hard to please him because no matter how hard I try, he's just always angry.
How angry, you may ask. Well, he treats my mom like a house-elf slave. He yells at her if she doesn't do something the way he wants it to be done, throws food at her if it's not the food he wanted to eat that night, and treats her like she's not a part of the family. I always feel bad for her and I wish I could do something about it, but she's afraid.
He doesn't treat me any better though. He’s hated me since I was born. He beats me up for little things. Like last year, I was washing vegetables for his lunch. I wasn't really good at washing the vegetables because there was always a lot of dirt on them so my mom came to teach me how to get all the dirt off. David was angry because he said that he already told me how to do it. In my opinion, teaching is when you actually stand there and show a person how to do something. David just said ‘run the vegetable under the water and get the dirt off.’ I didn’t really understand because I would run the vegetable under the water but the dirt wouldn’t come off so my mom bought me this muggle contraption that helped clean all the dirt off, but David was mad. He said that buying muggle contraptions was a disgrace to the wizarding world. For my punishment, I had to hold my hands under hot water for ten minutes. My mother’s punishment was that she couldn't eat for a day.
I tried my best to please him. I did everything he asked me to do. I would clean everything in the house, clean up after him, make sure he was comfortable, and nothing worked. He was impossible to please. The only moment that he would look a little pleased was when we were with guests. I was mad when I heard he didn't want me going to Hogwarts. This is the only thing I have ever wanted and he wants to ruin it. I was glad my mother convinced him to let me go.
