"So, on a scale of one to fire coming out of his ears how mad was daddy Dan when he found out Nathan got into another fight with Lucas?"
The trio of friends were in their shared geometry class trying to catch up on the past weekend events that surrounded none other than the Scott Brothers once again.
"Oh, I'm betting it was definitely fire especially after finding out they got booted off the bus." Toby adds after Stella's question.
"Wait, first of all, never call him daddy Dan ever again. Ew. Secondly, booted off the bus? What are you talking about?"
"Oh, Nate didn't tell you?"
"Nate and I haven't really talked much since everything..."
"Well, fear not ladies, I'm your new eyes and ears on everything that goes on with the boys varsity team." Toby says with a cocky smirk.
"Goodness not this again. You get to sit on the bench for one varsity game and suddenly you're acting like you're the second coming of Michael Jordan."
"You're just jealous."
"As if, you turd stain."
"Guys cut it out." Maddie says trying to hide her laughter as their teacher glanced up in their direction.
"As I was saying, Whitey gave them the boot to teach them a 'lesson' in working together as a team or whatever."
"So he made them walk home? That's kind of insane."
"No, it's genius. I mean they made it home, didn't they? It obviously had to work right?"
"You know this almost makes me want to make up with Nate to get the full story."
"Or, you know, there is someone else that we know was there that you could ask."
Maddie rolls her eyes at the insinuation her friend was making.
"That would be great, but you know...we're just not there yet. We only just had our first real conversation, if you even want to call it that."
"Yeah, but that was, what, nearly two weeks ago? Maddie come on, you've gotta actually talk to him again soon. This would be the perfect reason too!"
"You've gotta admit asking about his little after game journey with Nathan would be a kickass ice breaker."
"Oh! You know what you could do? You could invite him to Dan's kiss ass party!"
Maddie just gave the girl a blank look.
"Okay, no one kisses my dad's ass. It's not even his party, it's just a basketball sponsor thing, he just likes hosting it. And in case you forgot, Lucas doesn't really like our dad, he'd definitely say no."
"He'd say yes if you asked him despite all of that though. I mean, you ask me and Stell every year and we always come."
"We're her best friends, we're like legally obligated to be there to rescue her from the basketball boredom."
"Exactly. And besides, I wouldn't want to ask him to come to an event where he'd most likely be super uncomfortable—"
"I'm always uncomfortable—"
"Shut up, Toby"
"Mr. O'Donell, Miss Scott, and Miss Samuels, would you guys like to participate in this week's lesson, or should we all leave the room so you can finish your conversation?"
"No, sorry. We're done talking." Stella answers not being able to look her other two friends in the eye to avoid further trouble from laughing.
