Scarlet POV

Opening night in New York had been a major success. The reviews were great, and people loved the club. Violet and I had stayed an extra week to look over Star World, making sure everything went smooth and according to plan. After being sure everything would be okay, we went back home to LA.

Violet and I had been home for a month now, and we've seen each other maybe five times; I've been staying at Anderson's basically every night, and she's been staying at Preston's. There wasn't any drama or tension between us; we were both just in love, wanting to spend every moment with the guys that made us happy.

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my best friend.

I had gotten home an hour ago. Since then, I'd just been watching Step Brothers, stuffing my face with Cheeto puffs, and scrolling through Instagram. I was bored out of my skull.

I went to my contacts and dialed Violet's number; I brought the phone up to my ear, popping another Cheeto in my mouth, waiting for her to pick up. After a minute of no answer, I hung up and threw my phone on the couch with a sigh.

I walked over to the kitchen, grabbing a glass to fill with ice and water when Good Girls by 5 Seconds of Summer started playing in the other room; it was my ringtone for Vi. I ran over and picked up my phone, "Hello."

"Hey, Scar, did you call?" Violet asked, sounding out of breath.

"Yea, I feel like we haven't hung out in forever; I miss you," I said, taking a sip from my water.

"I miss you too. I was actually just about to leave Preston's if you wanna meet somewhere to grab an early dinner, maybe."

"I'm down, Urth maybe, meet there in 30?" I asked, growing excited about the best mac n cheese on this planet.

"Sounds good, see you then," Violet said, giggling a little bit. I hung up and ran to my room, grabbing some clothes to change into. I quickly slipped into black yoga pants and a white baseball shirt with red sleeves, pairing it with some air force ones. I put some mascara on and decided to head out, grabbing my purse.

The cafe was only a ten-minute walk from our apartment, so I decided to walk instead of drive, telling myself the exercise would balance out the food I was about to eat.

Just as I was walking up to the building, a black G-Wagon sped into an open spot; Preston hopped out, walking over to Violet's door, swiftly opening it. She stepped out and gave him a big hug, standing on her tippy toes to reach his lips. I smiled at the sight of them; they were so head over heels for each other.

Violet smiled at me, and I smiled in return; she began walking over to me but stopped halfway and turned around to blow Preston a cheeky kiss. He brought his hands up and acted as if he was catching it, then made a fist, putting it in his pocket. She turned around a light blush fanning across her face.

I walked over to Vi, engulfing her in a big hug, "you guys are so cute; I'm so happy for you," I said, squeezing her tighter. Violet squealed and pulled away, "I seriously love him so much, Scar, it's scary."

"I know the feeling Vi, it's really awesome, though," I said. It's true, being in love was the most exhilarating feeling in the world; it felt like I was on a roller coaster only going up. But, the questioning of when the drop would be coming lingered continuously in the back of my mind.

I chose not to focus on the what-ifs, rather trying to live in the now and enjoy every moment.

We sat down and ate, spending hours catching up, gossiping any new fun information we heard, and swooning over our boys.
