Legolas:
I can't fall asleep. My heart aches and my mind is buzzing. I can feel the cold breeze from the window above me drift across my face. The moonlight creeps in through the blinds and the room is well lit. Not the best for sleeping. I sigh and turn onto my side and stare at the wall. I let my mind go back, back to where I rarely let it go.
*flashback*The halls were almost empty. The coronation had just ended. As I walked down towards the dining hall I could hear hundreds of voices talking. I slipped into the room and tried to enjoy myself. Eventually, the party seemed to die down as many of the people left for the night. I could see Aragorn on the other side of the room with Arwen. I turned to walk away but I felt a hand grip my shoulder and heard Aragorn's voice talking,
"What's wrong Mellon nin?" I turned to face him plastering a smile on my face. I stared into his eyes, his beautiful grey eyes.
"Nothing. I'm fine." I turned to walk away but I heard him follow me.
"You know very well that that isn't true." He took my hand in his and I tried as best as I could not blush. "Come let's go to the gardens."
As we walk I stay silent almost wanting to run away. But I don't. I stay. I want his hand gripped around mine. I want his body close to mine. I want to see his beautiful grey eyes sparkle every day.
We finally reach the gardens and I see a beautiful tree growing in the center. Its leaves seem to sparkle in the moonlight and its bark is a deep rich brown. He turns and I know he can see the look of amazement on my face. He smiled like a little child and pulled me along to the base of the tree.
*flashback ends*
It was that tree, those branches where I made all the mistakes.

Aragorn:
I started at the kingdom. The sprawling levels of Gondor seemed far away. I moved my gaze away from the city and looked out towards the horizon. The full moon has risen a good way and I know I should probably get to bed.
I unconsciously feel my mind start to wander. Before long I find myself at the memory. The memory that tore everything apart. I close my eyes and sigh, then let the memory unfold
*flashback*
We were in the branches of the tree. The moonlight flickered down all around us, tinted green by the leaves. When I looked over toward Legolas I could see a faint smile across his face. His cheeks were dusted pink and his eyes were sparkling. We stayed like that for a while. Just staring at each other. Then he kissed me, right on the lips.
My eyes widened, not sure what to think. He pulled away and gasped. He put his hand over his mouth and backed away. I could see tears streaming out of his eyes as he jumped to the ground and started running away. I was frozen, my back pressed against the branch behind me. Eventually, I came to my senses and ran after him. He had run in the direction of the stables so I ran there. I ran inside and grabbed my horse. I threw a bridle over his head and mounted him.
As I ran towards the horizon I could see him off in the distance cantering away. I urged my horse forward faster trying to catch up. When I was within shouting distance I yelled out,
"Legolas! Please! Stop!" He turned around and spotted me chasing after him. He turned back around his arm wiping his face but did not stop. I could see him urging his horse forward and by now his horse was running at a pace I could no longer follow. I slowed my horse down before coming to a stop and sitting upon his back. I watched as Legolas disappeared into the cover of the forest.
As I walked back up to my house I could see Arwen rush out looking worried. She slowed down at the sight of my face. I could feel the tears pouring from my eyes but didn't care. She wrapped me in a hug and led me into the house.
*flashback ends*
I now stare out at the same horizon, the same forest in the distance, the same tears pour down my cheeks as I slowly walk inside.
To be honest, I hate this chapter too, hopefully, the rest will be better.
