Chapter 6: Sports Festival

I'm nervous. Really nervous. I mean, who wouldn't be?

After putting on my P.E. uniform, I make my way to the room where the rest of the class is. "Hi, Azusa," Tsu greets me, and for some reason, I feel a bit fuzzy. Was it because of the kiss?

Suddenly, Todoroki starts going on about something, but I don't bother listening until he says, "...And you, Azusa."

I lift my head up. "What?"

"You're hiding something. I can tell by the way you acted during the USJ attack. Either way, I will beat you." Something inside me snaps, and I walk up to Todoroki.

"Listen, I don't know who you think you are to talk to me – or even Izuku – like that!" He doesn't say anything, just 'Tch'. 'I'm going to beat him!'

I don't pay attention when Midnight announces Bakugou as the representative of Class 1-A. I only hear boos and shouting. 'No wonder everyone hates Class 1-A,' I think to myself as Midnight says, "Obstacle course."

I groan. "All eleven classes will participate in this race. The course will be about 3 miles long." She explains that we can do whatever we want as long as we stay within the course. "Now, take your places, everyone."

"Start." 

A wave of students crashes onto me as I make it through the entrance. After a few moments of dealing with Todoroki's ice, I manage to unfreeze myself, whirl the water on my arms to create water arms, and start swinging, jumping high above everyone. I can only unfreeze Uraraka at the moment.

"Thanks, Azu-chan," I hear Uraraka say.

'Azu-chan?' I manage to freeze my water arms with ice, forming sharp shards at the ends. I start swinging around, chopping off robot heads, earning thanks from other students. I jump over a robot and use my water to push me up high, flying near Bakugou. I push off his back and spring higher in the air.

"WOAH! Class 1-A's Nakano is surely something! AMAZING!" Present Mic cheers, causing me to smirk back at Bakugou as he curses loudly. Water emerges around my body as I use it to walk across the tightrope, successfully making my way to the next obstacle.

I slowly begin to make my way across when I see Izuku digging a hole. I run over to him and help. "What are you doing?" I ask. He throws down a robot piece as a shovel and tells me to grab onto his waist. "What?" I ask.

"Let's hurry!" He pulls my arms around his waist and slams into one of the pillars, causing both of us to fly in the air. We both let out a scream as I hold onto him for dear life. He pushes Todoroki and Bakugou off flying. I let go of him as we start running towards the finish line. I look over, seeing Bakugou and Todoroki nearing. I look back, seeing the determination on his face.

"Hold on!" I shout.

"Wha-Huh?!" He calls out. I send a wave behind him, causing Bakugou and Todoroki to slow down. The water pushes him so far that he's flying to the exit. I start to trip and fall; they pass me as I lay on the ground. But I quickly stand up and start to run. "Aaaaand, Azusa Nakano is in fourth place."

"Damn," I mutter, but I look up at the name board, seeing Izuku Midoriya in first place. I'm happy for him. He runs to me and hugs me. More and more kids pass the finish line, and I realize that the whole class made it through.

"Deku and Azu-chan!" Izuku and I turn around to see Uraraka.

She jumps onto me, causing me to take a few steps back. I hug her before letting her down. "Hey," I smile. She congratulates us while we thank her.

I don't listen to anything Midnight says; I just hear, "Calvary battle."

I look up with a 'seriously?!' type of look.

"... First place gets ten million!" I look at Izuku with a weary look. He's as stiff as a board as everyone stares daggers at him.

"Sorry, Izu..." I say, slowly walking away from him. I don't know who to choose. Soon I'm harshly tugged on. "Hey!" I shout, looking over to be dragged by the walking time bomb himself, Bakugou. "You're on my team now!"

"Why?"

"You're in the back because your quirk is offense," he says.

"No, my offense turns to my defense," I correct.

"She's on my team!"

"No, hey! I saw her first!"

"I literally have my hand on her arm! She's on my team!" Everyone is fighting over me because they saw how quickly I got past the obstacles.

Normally, I'd be flattered, but right now I'm not.

I decide to be on Shinso's team instead. Thanks to his quirk, we get third place.

At lunch: "What? Why?" I ask. 

"Please?!" Mina asks. 

Momo starts to come over. "I don't want to where it either, but it's Mr. Aizawa's orders." She says. 

"Fine," I say. 

"Thank you." Mina says pushing me into the dressing room.

"Wait, why isn't anyone else wearing the uniform?" I ask.

I become stiff as our teacher speaks in the mic, "What are they doing?" Soon, everyone has eyes on me.

"What?!" I hear Momo shouting at Kaminari and Mineta about them tricking the girls into wearing this.

I walk away to the girls' locker rooms. As I walk out, I can feel the eyes of people on me as I leave. After the whole fiasco, I sit down in the seating arena. I hear Present Mic calling out the match; it was Izuku vs. Shinso.

I didn't watch. I'm not a very good listener.

Izuku had broken his fingers. But he won. After a few more fights, next was my turn.

"Nakano Azusa versus...!" I look serious right now, scared of who I'm against. "DENKI KAMINARI!" 'Oh.' Kaminari grins. We walk down to the arena.

"Start!" Denki doesn't even know when lightning hits a pool, stream, puddle, or even wet ground; it momentarily charges all the water with millions of volts of lethal electricity.

Electricity surrounds him before realizing. I decide to risk it and pull water, surrounding us completely, making us shake violently.

"AhHhHhHhH!!!" I scream. Smoke begins to fill the air while a small explosion is created.

"What is this? We can't see Nakano with all this smoke! Will she be able to keep fighting?" Everyone tries to squint to search for me from the stands.

"Kaminari doesn't look too good!" He goes crazy stupid. The smoke starts to clear, showing Kaminari, but I'm nowhere in sight. Suddenly, water grabs onto him and slams him out of the zone.

"Nakano wins!" I'm taken to Recovery Girl's room to be taken care of. I hear a loud boom and rush out, seeing Uraraka down on the ground. This has Bakugou's name written all over it.
