Ash's POV:-
After reading that pamphlet, I thought why not give this a try, I mean let's be adventurous. I quickly went to the kitchen, "Aunt" I called for her as she was absent.
"Yes dear, what happened?" she asked coming from behind. I showed her the pamphlet. "And what is this, may I ask?" she said while raising her eyebrows
"Nothing just an adventure camp, I want to go" I shrugged and gave her a sheepish smile. She was reading it.
"Can I go to the camp, pretty please with a cherry on top? You know I get bored all day because both of your not-so-dear children, Mihir and Mahira have their tuition and activity classes simultaneously and today is the last day. May I register myself?" I said giving her a hopeful look.
"Why my children, not so dear?"
"Because I am your dearest, and you are my favourite," I said trying my best to put on my flattering smile which I use on friends' parents to impress them.
"Enough buttering. Yeah, you can go, on the safer side, it's not so far" she answered looking at me amused. "You know your father loves these things, when we were younger, he would spend his day doing all the 'Mowgli' activities in our neighbourhood, oh how many complaints we had?" she said smiling in nostalgia. I hugged her and she did the same. "My little Mowgli" I heard her whisper and I smiled.
I registered myself and started preparing according to the plan given on the website. I packed in half an hour and was fully prepared for the camo. I slept early this night as the stop is 35 minutes away from my aunt's house.
"Ash, wake up you are late" Came a female voice, I opened my eyes and saw a blurred image of my sister, Mahira. I woke up in frenzy. Shit, I am late, how can I be late? I slept early. Damn you, Selena and Taylor, a little context, I was on a girl trip to Paris with Selena and Taylor, so connect the dots, I have to get ready. I check my phone for the alarm and there it is, I set it to pm instead of am, sorry Selena and Taylor, I love you both to the moon and back. Yeah, I know pathetic of me, but that's how I was built.
it was already 10 am, but I had to leave at 9:45 am, I was late, scratch that very late.
I got ready by 10:20 am praying the bus should be delayed. The bus was delayed, but remember I was very late, so I missed it. Damn you, absent mind.
My uncle and I decided to directly reach the destination. Fortunately the bus crossed us after 20 minutes. Uncle stopped the bus by giving a thumbs up and started talking to the conductor.
"We are not allowed to take any child other than the bus stops," said the conductor with a strict voice.
"Please take this child." tried my uncle.
"NO"
"Please"
"No"
"Please" the conductor sighed.
"Okay then talk to our head. If he approves I will take this child."
my uncle talked to the head, who happened to be an old accomplice. He agreed as I was also a newcomer and outsider, so they made an exception.
At last, I boarded the bus. It was 25 % filled with teenagers. I got a seat with a girl who had earphones plugged in she had her black hair in a French braid, and it complimented her friendly hazel eyes. As I was struggling with my bags, I immediately drew her attention towards me, she helped me with them. I thanked her and asked her name. The girl replied in her beautiful voice. "Samaira"
Neither she nor I knew what effect this small encounter would have on our lives.
