We were at the entrance and the routine check-up was taking place. Ishita was standing in front of me, getting her handbag/bag checked.
"This is my makeup kit"
"Also not an essential, which means I will confiscate this", said the volunteer. "And yes your cell also, you are not allowed a cell in the camp" One by one the volunteer confiscated her things.
The next was me as I was aware of all the guidelines, hell I have them embedded in my mind that you can wake me up in the middle of the night I will recite them, CHRONOLOGICALLY, Yeah I know I am such a bore but if loving this camp defines me as bore then I am a boring person, the volunteer did not confiscate anything.
"Another year at this camp, Sam" came a voice behind me but with a greater height than me, yeah I know I am short too, but how do I know that the voice's owner had greater height than me, the reason for this is that he never forgets to 'subtly' mention it, I turned around and was met with the mischievous brown eyes with a yellow cap on his head like a cherry on top.
"Hello Josh, I am good thanks for asking" And guys I present you unfortunately my best friend, Josh Thomas.
"Woah, what happened??", Josh replied throwing his hands in surrender, sensing the absence of a retort or witty remark.
"Nothing it's just that there was a planning to go to Ladakh by road"
"NO WAY DUDE", replied Josh excitedly. "Yes way, but my mom got a minor fracture on her leg and that plan was cancelled"
"Alas, Is she good?" answered Josh. "Yeah you can whine about that Ladakh trip now" I answered with a smile. He is a Sucker for road trips or any trips in particular, and mountains tops the priority list.
"W-well I am sad about your mother too" stuttered Josh and I started laughing as he started fidgeting his fingers. "Well I should go your friend is eyeing me now" Sam saw Ash glaring at me, this boy is so self obsessed that he think that everyone is checking him out, oh josh i feel sad for you, back to the topic my dear friend was angry because I left her alone with Kim. I ran towards them and helped Ray with her bag. The bags of both Ash and Kim was passed surprisingly as they were first timer here.
"Well who was that boy?" asked Ash
"OH its Josh, Kyra told me about him. He and Sam are best friends since they were in 3 grade. Am I right?" answered Ray smiling and looking at Sam. "Well you are" I answered, damn that girl keep her facts updated, i am impressed as if i was not yet.
"Hey Sam"
"Yeah"
"Well there were some shortage of volunteers, so I signed up your and my name for it. You have a survival duty and an equipment duty with me" answered Josh
"Meet my friends Ash and Ray" I introduced.
"Hello",answered Josh. "This is-"
"Josh, we know." answered Ash with a smile,mood swings much?
"Well, I have a duty right now about some formalities to fill about some girl named Ishita Gupta" said Josh looking at his clipboard. We looked shocked, I broke the silence. "Well just a tip never try to help her"
"I will try my best. Bye guys" said Josh and went away.
"Back to NRI, did you two saw her face,how sad she was looking" joked Ray. "That was a priceless moment" remarked Ash and broke into laughter.
Ray started showing her backward walking and THUD Ray fell down in a puddle of mud and her slippers were also snapped into two due to the pressure. Ash was laughing very hard. "That was the best backward walking I have seen" Kim made a face. "Oh no what should I do?"
"See the helping girl can't help herself. May I help you?" came Ish mocking Ray.
"We don't need your help. Wait, I think you should help yourself without your 'essentials' " I said and we broke into laughter. Ish went away angrily.
"That was a good one,Sam" Ray said as she stood up from the help of Ash when she stopped laughing. The trio moved further with Kim arms wrapped around me and Ash as she got a little cramp at her feet.
"There's nothing to worry about. I have a spray,I will apply that you will feel better" said Ash.
"Oh, thanks"
They made Ray sit down on a rock and Ash started spraying at Ray's feet. Ray was busy staring at her slippers. "What should I do , I had only one pair of footwear, and it is also damaged."
"Don't worry. I carry an extra pair of slippers with me. I will give you that" I said calmly.
"I have applied the spray now you will feel better" said Ash.
"You two are awesome . If you both wouldn't be here, how could I ever survive this Ishita and my foot pain" said Ray hugging us, I mean good gesture but Ash you are being a third wheel in this.
