[Lunch]You had successfully managed to redress yourself and get down stairs in five minutes which you were incredibly pleased about. Bucciarati had then written a short note to the rest of the gang that you were both heading out and probably wouldn't be back until after dark. You then set off into the morning streets, the air was crisp with short drafts of mellow air weaving between the passers by.
It was about a twenty minute walk, however, it was lengthened by your continuous stopping to peer into shop windows to look at the odd creations that were on display, Bruno watching happily as you looked in with intrigue. With your constant stopping, the walk that should've been a brisk stroll ended up being just under an hour long.
When you reached the park it was coming up for nine o'clock and the sun had risen far enough to cover the the green expanse in a rosy glow.
"Where shall we sit?" You linked your arm with Bruno's as you gently swung yourself round. "If we go to the canal we may be able to see some ducks..." You nodded your head eagerly and walked arm in arm over to the canal.
"How do we get down onto that ledge?" You looked over the railing and below you was a sort of pavement next to the canal, small parts of it staying as earth that provided for small beaches, leading down into the shallow water by the edge.
"I don't see any problem with jumping down, as long as we don't disturb anyone..." he murmured, scanning the area. Your heart increased as you peered down at the small drop which was probably a bit taller than yourself.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" You mumbled and Bucciarati crouched down and smoothly dropped to the ground, landing elegantly below. He looked up at you and gave you an okay signal.
You lowered yourself to the ground and cautiously hung your legs over the side of the drop, then shimmying so that you were sat on the edge. You looked down, a little scared of hurting your feet.
"Come on, I'll catch you!" Bruno whispered excitedly from the ledge. You sighed and jumped off the edge, feeling his arms glide up your legs to grip onto your waist as you fell.
"That wasn't so bad now, was it?" He mumbled into your hair, pressing a small kiss to your head. You looked up at him pouting, "It looked higher from up there..." you laughed.
"Look, ducks!" You pointed happily to the canal but when Bruno turned around you ran for it, sprinting along the ledge that crossed beneath a bridge. You heard him chasing after you, close behind. You didn't slow down, thinking he would be able to catch up.
As you continued down the ledge, it split into two paths, one continuing along the side of the canal and the other turning left into some shrubbery. You decided you would have more coverage if you picked the path that veered to the left and so ran down it.
You slowed your pace when you couldn't hear his footsteps any more and started to stroll down the path, wondering where it would take you. You gazed over to your left to see a river of water, parallel to the canal on your right. Ahead of you was a clearing, which you assumed to be the end of the land and where the river met the canal.
You cautiously walked out, checking for people nearby, when you couldn't spot any you relaxed and walked over to a bench that was beneath a tree. As you were about to sit down you felt a pair of hands wrap under your arms, pulling you up into the tree and before you could make any noise, a hand covered your mouth.
"Turn around slowly and wrap your arms around me." The voice ordered and you laughed.
"How the heck did you get ahead of me?" You continued to laugh as you shuffled round on the large extension of the tree to meet Bruno who was leaning against the trunk, his stand hovering next to him.
