7: Spiders and Demons

Sooner or later we made it to the forest and Zenitsu was awake so Tanjiro took Nezuko. I took a big gulp and followed behind Tanjiro and Inosuke. Zenitsu stayed put. "Wait, are we ACTUALLY going in there?!" he yelled. I chose to ignore him and keep walking. "HEY IS ANYONE GOING TO ANSWER ME?!". But we were already in the forest. It didn't help that it was night and the forest would be darker than normal. "Guys..." I said. "Yes Ozawa?" Tanjiro answered. "I know this sounds like a bad idea but we should split up, I'm going to scout the area" I said. "Sure whatever" Inosuke said. "If you're sure you're okay with it then I guess I am too" Tanjiro said. I left them alone and took a left turn.

Preparing my sword for anything I looked around the place. Blue and black all around me I saw a figure in the distance. "What is that?" I saw what looked like a person, I summoned up my courage to go up to them "excuse me, have you seen any demons here?" I asked. The person turned around and to my surprise they actually had pretty cool eyes, but they weren't human. With a face of disgust and embarrassment Ii started running for her. "Why are you all of a sudden running at me?" she asked. And with a flick of her finger the gravity somehow increased. "What.. is this power?" I asked. I was unable to move nowhere near as fast as I wanted. The demon started running away from me. "No... get back" I asked. Little did I know she actually stopped running and turned around. "Who do you think you are ruining Rui's plan?" she asked. "Who?" I asked. She looked unimpressed "I really don't like humans, especially the ones that annoy me!"

She flicked her finger again causing my body to float in the air "woah" I said trying to balance myself. She flicked her finger once more "I really must get back to Rui, you're wasting my time. I honestly shouldn't even be using my gravity manipulation on you" I smashed back down into the ground. "Good bye I'm going back to Rui" she said as she skipped away. "Wait.." my voice withered. Using my arms to move forward. "I'm not finished fighting you," I said. She stopped once more. "Oh shut up" she said. As she turned around I noticed this time she made two loops with her finger then clicked.

"What does that do?" I thought. I started floating once more and dropped, floated and dropped, I floated once more and then dropped to the ground. This time I was out of her power and able to walk. Wobbling around I tried to keep my balance. Every time I dropped on the floor I got hurt. Getting my katana out I said "star breathing second form, shooting star!" I missed her but instead slashed down a tree. She felt the powerful wind my attack gave. "Wow," she said. "I'm impressed, finally a human with some skill, maybe you are worth a fight". "Oh your on, this fight is out of this world" I said. "Star breathing fourth form, meteor shower" I attacked her but she moved so suddenly. "Dammit not again!" I said. Instead of hitting her it hit the ground creating a big enough hole you would think a star fell from. Excused by my miserable failures I fell to my knees, gasping for air and letting go of my katana. "What is wrong with me?" I asked.

I turned around and saw that the demon was injured enough to have fallen to the ground as well. But she kept standing. With a deadpan expression she looked at me in the eyes and said "ow" extremely monotoned. "How could I have missed again?" I thought. "You really keep on impressing me human" she said in a sudden change of tone "I never would have thought humans could even touch me with their attacks" she continued. Seeing in her face that she had no will to continue fighting, I calmed down. She picked me up and said "good game" I was a bit confused. I said it back. "This demon seems different.." she started to speak. "My name is Yuki Kimura, I thought your joke was hilarious". "You really think so?" I giggled. "Yeah, how did you come up with that on the spot?" she asked. "I really don't know," I replied. We both fell to the floor and started laughing. "Pretending to be professional is so hard" Yuki groaned. "I would agree but my painful past says otherwise" I sighed.

She helped me up and said "I know this may be weird but i think we should be friends". "I guess others may find it weird but I've met kind demons" I said. "Really? Who?" Yuki asked. "Have you heard of lady Tamayo?" I asked. "Surprisingly yes I have" she replied. "The reason I'm here right now is because I needed to get them some of the web the spiders here make" she finished. "Well we better start moving" I said. "Why?" Yuki replied. "Didn't you say something about needing to see this "Rui"?" I asked. "Yeah.. wait so you actually don't know him?" she asked. I nodded. "Your legs look beat! Let me help you walk until we find him" she offered. "Thank you" I kindly accepted. We walked for a while until the forest was filled with webs. "What in the.." I said, about to touch it to see how it feels. "Don't touch that! It will slice your human fingers off!" Yuki warned me. "Woah that was a close one" I said.

We finally got to Rui. "Woah" I said. "He's kinda cute" I thought. Then I realised who he was firing the webs at. "TANJIRO" I yelled. I grabbed his attention. Letting go of Yuki I stumbled over to Tanjiro. At the corner of my eye I saw someone stuck in the webs. "NEZUKO" I yelled. "I'll try to help you I swear!". I looked over and saw that Yuki had gone over to Rui. Although we both had arrived they continued the fight. At the exact same time Yuki and I yelled "STOP!". Both Rui and Tanjiro had stopped attacking and turned to us. "What is it Ozawa? Can't you see I'm in a fight?" Tanjiro said. "Please.. Just listen.." I said. He put his sword away. I could see that Yuki had tried to do the same thing. Rui had lowered Nezuko down but still kept her as a hostage. "I'm not surprised that your legs are even more damaged Ozawa but I'm listening," Tanjiro said.

"Why should I trust these filthy humans?" Rui asked. Yuki kept trying to convince him. I sighed in relief that Tanjiro was listening. I started limping towards Yuki and thankfully I managed to make it to her. She caught me as I nearly fell. "What is happening?" Tanjiro asked. "Yuki is my friend, she is another good demon Tanjiro. We must hear them out" I said. "Yuki who is this?" Rui asked. Having myself in her arms she said "she's someone I just met". "I won't hurt you on purpose because you're their friend but don't blame me if you get in my way" Rui said. "Thank you" I said "now that we have come to an agreement lets come up with a compromise" I continued.

Rui glanced at Yuki then to Nezuko and loosened the webs on her. "If you return Nezuko to us and give us information on the 12 Kizuki and Muzan I'll spare your life and let you free" I said. "You say that as if you have a chance of killing me" he chuckled. "Oh what's that?" I put my hand up to my ear. "Is that the Hashria?" I grinned. "Damn she's good," Yuki said. "Dammit" Rui said. "Fine!" he let Nezuko off and she came running towards me. I hugged her "Nezuko.. I'm so happy you're safe.." I squeezed her tighter then let go. To my surprise she didn't attack Yuki and instead pat her on the head just like Yushiro. "So cute". "The Hashira are coming," Tanjiro warned. "Times ticking Rui" I said. Nezuko walked me back to Tanjiro. "Do you really think this is going to work?" he asked as he caught me. "I sure hope so but if I die at least I died with you" looking at him showing the slightest fear in my eyes. He squeezed me in a tight hug as if he was thinking the same thing. I was shocked by this and my eyes could tell but instead of caring I dug my head into his shoulder.

Rui muttered something under his breath before looking at Tanjiro and I. "The 12 Kizuki will attack you sometime when you least expect it" he stopped "oh and Muzan always has a set of eyes watching your every move" Yuki finished. I didn't know if the information given was useful or a complete waste of time but I decided to go with it. I let go of Tanjiro "They are coming," I said. "Run". Rui looked surprised that I actually let them go and honestly so was I. "Tanjiro move out of the way!" someone behind us said.
