8: I Could Taste The Freedom

I saw that the sun began to rise. "That's not good for Nezuko". We turned our heads and someone with a red, yellow and green kimono. Someone was running full speed with their katana out. But they were too late as the demons already left. "Goodbye Yuki.." I whispered. "Why didn't you attack them?" the guy said. Coming up with some half-truth I said "we were both too injured to continue fighting and Nezuko was captured in the webs". Going back into the hug I grabbed him tighter. "It's not Tanjiro's fault," I said about to cry. Then I felt that he wasn't focusing on me or Tanjiro but how to get Nezuko out of here without someone called Shinabo seeing her. "Tomioka you know we must kill all the demons we see" a girl said as she came out of the bushes smiling. "Nezuko run," I said. She started running. The girl started following after her and tried to attack Nezuko but she shrunk and kept running. "How could you kill someone that cute?". "Capture all those who tried to stop us and catch the demons" she said. And behind us we saw a girl coming to us through the bushes. She started running towards us. Before I could do anything Tanjiro swept me off my feet and started running away. "What the.." his face looked so concentrated on where he was going so I tried not to distract him. We went deeper into the forest and continued going as we were still being followed.

Soon there came a cliff, it was still pretty far away but I could see the sudden drop but Tanjiro wasn't changing direction. "What are you doing?" I asked Tanjiro. "I'm going to jump," he replied. "What? Are you out of your mind?" I asked. "Says the one who befriended another demon" he replied. "Touché" I said. Even though I knew what was happening I still got scared. Feeling the wind go by super fast and knowing there was a possibility of death. "How many times are we about to die?" closing my eyes I made sure I was holding tight to Tanjiro. But then I noticed we weren't falling anymore. "What happened?" I opened my eyes and saw that there was someone on the ground. "Wait are we floating?" Tanjiro asked. I looked surprised but excited. "Yukiiii," I said. She said "when is it that you're not in a life or death situation?". Relieved, I let go of Tanjiro. "Thanks for saving us," I said. She turned her power off and expectedly we both face planted into the ground. "Ouch my legs" I said. "Why is it always your legs?" Tanjiro asked. "I don't know but now it's my face as well. "Well I think your face seems fine," he said as he picked me up.

"Are you two love birds done?" Yuki said. I looked at Yuki "how are you not burning in the sun? Where is Rui?" I asked. "He's in the house," she answered. "I'm only able to have six hours a day of sun unless I use my ability too much" she said. "So no more falling from cliffs!" she continued. I turn to Tanjiro "so much for saying I'm out of my mind" I said. "Whatever," he replied. "Come," Yuki said. "I know where Nezuko is and it's very bad because she can't go in the sun," she continued. "Climb on my back," Yuki said. I did as I was told and went on her back.

Yuki then showed us where Nezuko was. Luckily she was there on the porch where there was a lot of shade from the trees. Tanjiro put Nezuko in the box and Yuki put me down "thank you for the ride" I joked. "It's alright, don't worry about it" she said. Yuki waved goodbye as Tanjiro and I walked away from the house. "That wasn't too bad was it?" I asked. "I dont think so" Tanjiro answered. Then out of nowhere someone caused me to lose my balance, picked me up and took me away. "Tanjiro.." I turned around to see that Tanjiro was cornered. "Wow, so you go for the crippled one" I scoffed as I rolled my eyes. "Shut up girly, you've got some explaining to do to the Hashira" they answered. "The Hashira?" They soon got Tanjiro and we were both taken away.
