chapter 6 : her house

~draco's pov~

I knew I acted kinda rude on the train. I couldn't help saying mean remarks, it's my way of showing that I don't care even if I do. This girl, y/n White, affected me in an indescribable way. I never felt something like that and I hate it. It makes me feel weak.

A Malfoy doesn't have weaknesses.

Finally making my mind, I chose to try to befriend her. After all, she was a pureblood and I wanted to know where she was from. I just had to talk to her and hoping she was sorted into Slytherin.

Just when I came up to her, McGonagall pulled her apart from the rest of us, explaining her the ceremony. Disappointed, I followed Blaise and Ava into the Great Hall and sat next to Will. I waved to Crabbe and Goyle, forcing a smile.

The ceremony started with the first years, only a couple of them were new Slytherins. The rest of the table was cheering but I was lost in my thoughs. The majestic doors opened one last time and y/n entered the Great Hall.

All eyes were on her.

Everyone was staring at her.

Her.

She nervously walked to the teachers table and sat on the stool, under the hat. The hat was talking nonsense, just like always and it was getting long. Her eyes met mine, and we hold our gaze for a moment.

"Draco, you're staring." I thought.

I looked down fast and played with my ring to make it look like I was totally disinterested.

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat yelled.

I felt instantly relieved, it would be easier to make friends with her. She stood up and I cheered, watching her sitting between Blaise and Ava. Will and I smirked, both happy to have a new member of our friend group. Blaise warmly welcomed her and we stopped talking to hear Dumbledore speech. This year speech was way less boring than the others. The headmaster informed us that a big surprise event including two others schools is starting here at Hogwarts in less then a month.

I didn't want to ruin the surprise, but I already knew. Since father works for the ministry, I knew about the Triwizard Tournament since the beginning of the summer. I started eating and talking to everyone, wanting to enjoy this year.
