You slowly sat up in bed and reached out for the glass of water that Brittany put on your nightstand for you before you fell asleep. You brought it to your lips, only to find that it was empty.

You caught a glimpse of the time on the clock and found it was only after three am. You were really thirsty and wanted to get some water, but you didn't want to wake up your girlfriend. Especially since she's been taking such great care of you since you first came down with the flu only two long nights ago.

You decided to let her get some good sleep, thinking you could handle going downstairs to grab yourself a glass of water. You carefully pushed the covers away and climbed out of bed. You felt weak and used the walls to lean on as you walked down the hallway and to the staircase.

You clearly mistook being able to do this on your own. You haven't been out of bed the last two days unless it was to use the bathroom. But even then, Brittany has been right there beside you to help you, knowing that you couldn't do it on your own.

You felt lightheaded, your legs were shaky, and you could hardly hold yourself up as you reached the counter. You held onto it as your squeezed your eyes shut, hoping that the feeling would subside quickly.

But it only worsened. Your head felt heavy, your stomach weak, and you lost your grip on the counter as you fell back. But you fell into a pair of arms rather than your head hitting the floor. Brittany stared down in concern, gently laying you on your back and watching your eyes flutter shut.

"Y/n? Baby? Wake up!" She spoke worriedly and tapped your cheeks lightly to try to get you to wake up. She panicked the longer your eyes stayed closed and the longer you stayed unresponsive.

She rushed up the stairs and returned just as fast. With her phone pressed to her ear and tears blurring her vision, she called emergency services as she tried to wake you.

"Baby? Open your eyes." You heard her plea as you stirred.

Your eyes fluttered open and you jumped at the loud wail of the sirens and the flashing lights as the ambulance pulled into the driveway.

"There you are," she mumbled as she stroked your warm cheek. "There are those pretty eyes. Can you stay awake for me, my love? Just focus on me."

You just groaned in response. Your eyes felt heavy and you felt much too tired and weak to even try to keep them open. Just as the door swung open from the paramedics, you were passing out again.

To Brittany, it felt like forever before you woke up. It was a little while later when you woke up to the bright lights of the hospital room, the beeping of your heart rate on the monitor, and the feeling of fingers tightly wrapped around yours.

Your eyes immediately locked with Brittany's. She looked worried, tear-stains on her cheeks. But when you squeezed her hand, she cracked a smile and leaned in to lay a kiss on your warm forehead.

"Why am I in the hospital?"

"Because you passed out." She said s she brushed a lock of your hair behind your ear. "You gave me quite the scare! I woke up without you there and I called out for you when I walked into the kitchen and found you about to pass out. I caught you before you hit the ground, so you don't have a concussion or anything like that now."

She teased, her eyes gazing into yours worriedly.

"You were just really dehydrated. Even though you've been drinking some water, you're throwing up a lot, not really keeping much of anything down."

You sighed and clutched her hand tightly in your own, squeeing it a few times in reassurance, hoping it'd ease her racing mind.

"I'll be okay."

"I know." She smiled and leaned in to lay a long, lingering kiss to your temple. "No more scaring me like that. Until you recover, let me get you whatever you need. No matter the time, you wake me. Okay?"

"I promise," you agreed, to which she sighed in relief and laid her head on yours. She was just feeling so thankful that you would be okay.
