          Concert tickets

[Victoria]

I closed my eyes slowly. Last night I could't sleep at all.  My sleepless night in search of my dreams, my dream was to buy the concert tickets to BTS.  Anyways, the point was that I spend the whole night on the Internet, looking for the tickets but they were all sold out.

I was tired in my last choir class of the semester.  I looked to my right side and I saw my friend Genesis, she was idly sitting on her seat while glaring at everybody except me, of course.  Her eyes met mine and after a while she stood up from her chair and walked towards me.  My eyes went to my teacher who was on stage, she was talking about the upcoming concert.

"Have you found the tickets?" somebody poked my arm and interrupted my thoughts.

It was Genesis. I looked at her eyes filled with anticipation. I tried to avoid her gaze. I was sad to say that all tickets were sold out...

"Genesis, I ..." but she interrupted what I was going to say.

"Yvonne and I found the tickets." she was really excited and had a huge grin on her face.

Honestly, I felt very sad to hear that. I really wanted to cry. I wanted to go with them, to meet our bias together. I wanted with great anticipation to meet my Suga oppa, in the VIP area. Just thinking about not having the chance to meet them made me really sad. But still I managed to smile.

"I hope you take lots of pictures." I said, forcing myself to look happy in front of them.

I felt the hand of Genesis on my shoulder. Her eyes were watering, they always did when something bad happened. She was too sentimental, unlike me.

"B-but, I want you to come with us. I-it won't be the same." she stuttered.

The hours were eternal as always, in part I liked being in choir but sometimes it takes way too long. The students were singing but I wasn't in the mood for singing today and Genesis tried a few times to get my attention but I pretended not to notice her. Not that I was trying to avoid her, but the truth was that I did not feel happy enough to talk. Choir club ended and I went to the library. I looked around and found Yvonne sitting on a chair with her headphones on while softly singing the song of BTS 'Boy in luv'.

"Kkwak jaba nal deopchigi jeone, nae mami neol jeone nochigi. Say what you want..." she was quietly singing and making some exagerated hand movements which were part of the song.

I coughed a few times to make her notice me. When she saw that I was next to her she almost fell from the chair. I gave her a funny look, and found her during her hours of doing absolutely nothing.

"I wish I had a job like yours." I laughed a little.

She looked at me and then rolled her eyes. Yvonne sat at a table and I followed her to sit down too. She settled her messy hair that she had on her forehead and looked at me.

"It's exhausting to work here." Yvonne gave a tired sigh. "But that's not important." she smiled widely "It was worth my effort. You know, why? Because thanks to this job I had enough money to buy my VIP ticket" she squealed excitedly and started doing her happy dance.

I smiled at her, because I really felt happy for her and Genesis, but I wanted to go with them and it's not that I'm selfish; is that my dream was to meet them with the girls, not them without me.

"Hey, girls." Genesis greeted sitting next to Yvonne.

I saw her and she glared at me, frowning her lips with anger. I smiled politely, because she knew she could not be angry with me for so long.

"Can you stop doing that, please? Thanks." She growled.

"Come on, Genesis don't be mad at me." I did my pretty face "I promise I will go to the next one."

She shook her head.

"There will be no next one! They don't visit America..." Genesis raised her voice a little and stared right into my eyes with a serious look.

"Shhh, do you want me to lose my job?" Yvonne said and looked around to see if non of the librarians were near. "Sorry." Genesis muttered.

"Ok Genesis now you're exaggerating. They DO visit America." Victoria said.

"Wait, what did I miss?" Asked Yvonne.

"And all the tickets were sold out, I couldn't do anything about it..." Victoria added.

Genesis got up really mad.

"But if you would have accepted, I would have bought you the tickets myself, and maybe just maybe you could have gone with us." Genesis spoke up.

One of the librarians told her to low her voice.

"Victoria, won't go to the concert with us?" asked Yvonne sad.

"I would not have accepted it." I said softly to Genesis.

"See?" she growled once again.

I looked at Yvonne which looked at me and nodded.

"You would not meet our oppas." Yvonne said with disappointment.

I smiled sadly.

"Girls, I'll be fine. Just take lots of pictures."  We both nodded sad. I stayed with them for thirty minutes, until my mom called me and I had to leave college.

I was sad and my mother knew about it. On the way home the ride was silent, no one spoke a word. I sighed a few times while looking out the window. I closed my eyes for a moment, to imagine what my encounter with those boys would be. With MY oppa Suga! Surely, it would be perfect. I smiled like a fool just thinking about it, but my smile quickly faded, when I remember that it could not be, it could never happened. I erased my smile off my face and I looked at my mother. She was thinking about something, but nothing could explain her silence. When I got home, I threw my backpack to the sofa. I felt the quick footsteps of my brothers; Christopher and Daniel. Their faces carried a giant smiled. But, I couldn't understand the silly grins they had plastered all over their face.

"Did mom tell you?" Chris asked as he gave me a tied hug.

My mom coughed twice behind me.

"No, I'll tell her after dinner." she sounded serious.

I saw her walking towards the kitchen, I follow her anxiously.

"Mommy, please tell me I want to know!" I exclaimed putting lots of effort on my puppy eyes to see if she would budge. But she would't give in.

My mother ignore me and took out some vegetable for me. When she turned around her eyes met mine. She knew exactly what I was thinking and she said:

"No. I'm not going to tell you yet. You need to wait."

 She still sounded serious.

"B-but..." I stuttered. "Ay ma!" I could never control my Puerto Rican expression, I wined. "Oh, well then I guess I won't eat."

I crossed my arms and plunged into my chair. I looked at my mother somewhat defiantly, she looked at me and raised one eyebrow glaring at me. Then she sighed and said:

"Fine!" she exclaimed "I will tell you."

I smile victoriously as I wait for to tell me already.
