───── ❝ CHAPTER 2 PART 1 ❞ ─────༄
topper woke me up bright and early at 7 on the dot. our mom demanded that if topper goes to the cameron's, i'd have to tag along. i don't understand why, though. half the time he goes alone anyways. this would be fine by me on any other occasion but with the terms rafe and i left things off on, the last house i wanted to go to was his.
i sighed and threw together an outfit which consisted of a white tank top, some light wash denim shorts, and my white sneakers. i layered a few of my gold necklaces and brushed my hair before heading downstairs, greeted by my brother."so, top, did ya' tell sarah about those 'bumps' you hit last night?" i air quoted and asked him, raising an eyebrow as my arms crossed.
"no. and if you do i'll 'bump' you in the head." he copied my mannerisms.
i gasped dramatically, "no you would NEVER!" i giggled and ran off outside, him slowly trailing behind me as we walked down the street to the cameron's.

the stickiness of the humidity was practically unbearable. the only thing that was even a little bit helpful was the soft breeze that came in our direction, it caused my long and wavy brown hair to slightly flow behind me. rafe and kelce came over and joined the two of us. rafe greeting my brother and only slightly glancing at me. when our eyes met i turned my head in the other direction, acting entirely oblivious to his attention. i had nothing but mean things to say to him so i kept my mouth shut. the tension between us could be cut with a knife. after a few moments of awkward silence, we started walking towards the backyard of the cameron mansion. leaves and branches covered the once perfected landscape and pool. yard decor was scattered and my jaw dropped.
"jeez, man, this is nuts." topper ran a hand through his messy highlighted hair and rafe added, "agatha's a bitch." he chuckled.
"damn right she is." kelce looked at my brother.
"a bitch." i mumbled.
