Meeting The Parents

JUSTIN

"Justin. This is too rushed seriously." Ria gushes as I reverse and park my car in front of my huge towering mansion.

"Why?" I ask, raising my brow. "Because. I only met you last week and like we've suddenly switched to boyfriend and girlfriend!" Ria exclaims, panic filling her voice and beautiful green eyes.

"Just come with me." I sigh as I grab her hand and pull her towards the huge oak door seperating me from everyone inside. "I'm not ready." She tells me. I chuckle as my finger jab the button and melodic tune fills through the house.

"Too bad. I am." I chuckle. Ria mumbles some unintelligent words just as the door swings open to reveal Scooter.

"Hey Justin..... And Ria?" Scooter trails off, confusion around his features. "Step aside man. I'll come in and explain." I chuckle and he steps aside, his eyes never leaving us.

His eyes trail down to our interlace fingers and they narrow. I sigh heavily and pull Ria into the living room. Everyone is there.

My whole family and crew. Fantastic. Even Jaxon and grandma. 

"Hey guys. I've someone to introduce to y'all." I announce. Ria hides half of her body behind me and smiles timidly. "Meet my girlfriend Ria Tyson. I think y'all know her." I say.

"Hey." Ria smiles, lifting her hand to wave awkwardly at them. But nobody said anything. They just stare and gasp. Pattie stands up, "Justin? The room sweetie." She instructs and I nod. 

I follow my mother into the room and she locks the door. "Justin baby." She starts. "Mum. I like her. A lot. Please try to understand." I plead. "No. Wait what?" My mother asks, confusion in her voice.

"What are we talking about?" I ask, raising my brow. "I was gonna talk about your safety." Pattie tells me. "Oh." She sighs heavily, "Ria really means a lot to you, I know. Just be careful will you baby?" She asks.

"Mum, I will be. I promise." I promise my mother as I lean forward and kiss her cheek. She smiles at me and we walk out together.

"What happened?" I ask as I saw Ria still standing there. Not awkward, but confused. "Pattie, I'm really sorry for everything." She apologizes. "Ria!" I shout out as Ria starts to run out of the house. 

I grab her waist and spin her around. "J-Justin, don't." She stammers and wrenches out of my grip. She walks out and right out of the gate, disappearing.

Anger ran through my body as I walk back inside. "What happened." I ask through my gritted teeth. "I swear man, I don't know. She got two calls and then ran out." Alfredo explains. I calm myself down and stare at him.

His sincere eyes bore into my confuse ones. "She what?" I ask. "I don't know what's up man." Scooter shrugs. "I think it's regarding the case." Carin adds on. "What about it?" I shoot.

"Honestly, I just heard her whispering." She says and I pull out my phone. I dial her number and press it against my ear. The call directs me straight to her voice mail.

"Vas Happening? This is Ria and I'm unable to get the phone so please leave a message after the beep! Thanks."

I sigh out in frustration. "I think you should leave her alone for now. Let her come and explain everything to you." Dan advises as he walks in from the kitchen.

"Go to sleep baby." Pattie whispers and I say my partings before climbing up the stairs towards my room.

I peel out my clothes and step into the shower. The water beads spray down my body, calming down my tense muscles. I apply the soap and the milky scent swirls through the bathroom.

I wash off the soap and dry myself before slipping on some random shorts. My phone vibrates and I tap it open.

I'm so sorry for just now. I can't see you for now but I'll explain soon. Don't call or text. This is regarding the case so I'll be working. Hope you understand. Love you xo

I re read the words and debate whether I should answer or not. In the end I switch off my phone and jump into the comfortable covers of my bed.

I pull them up to my chest and drift into a dreamless sleep.
