(future chapters will be longer)
The dome was foggy now, you could hardly see anything outside and trying to sleep in such a cramped space was becoming more and more uncomfortable. Ahsoka couldn't stand it anymore, the boring life of wake up, find a planet, eat, run and sleep. The same events everyday. meanwhile in the cockpit of the ship was a broken soldier who had let his clone brothers die. Sometimes he would question whether it was the right choice to help the young togruta and not his family, the people who he fought alongside for so many years, the people who lost their lives by following orders, the orders to kill Ahsoka. Why should she be saved when she ran away from the war. The Y-Wing they were practically living in had all it's power turned off except for the life support systems, to any imperial scouts it was merely reckage, a relic from a time slowly becoming distant to those who lived through it.
Most days they would stumble upon a planet just by drifting in the dark vacuum of outerspace, this was not one of those days. They had been floating for hours with no success. The previous planet they found had several imperial outposts, the citizens of the city spoke of a jedi but after the two phantom criminals had a far too close encounter with this 'jedi' they had to leave for they were really a sith. The majority of people in the galaxy saw no difference between the two, they were both cults who took children from their family and used magic unknown to most individuals, this is why it was so easy to manipulate the republic (now the empire) into thinking that the jedi betrayed democracy however it definetly wouldn't be long before the galaxy knew what palpatine really wanted. Order 66 (now known as the purge) caused the death of the light side force users, only about a dozen survived.
"Ahsoka"
The sound of Rex's voice made her jump, he hadn't spoken all day, something was wrong, She didn't expect him to be okay, besides he had witnessed half his battalion be killed, she sensed something else though.
"Yes Rex"
"It's been hours and still nothing, I think we need to turn the engine on"
"I agree but we need to be quick, the empire knows we're alive, they'll be coming for us"
It was obvious that even with all the experience and power the padawan had she was still just that, a padawan, she was scared.
"Of course commander"
"You know you don't need to call me that anymore"
"Loyalty is everything to us clones..."
His voice suddenly changed, holding back the tears he carried on with what he was saying.
"You fought with us, you saved us..."
You could feel the pain whenever he spoke about his fallen brothers. Ahsoka hated to see him like this so she interrupted quickly.
"Rex, they are good soldiers, they were following orders and so were you. They didn't know what they were doing, if they did they would have listened to you. This, all of this it's bigger than you and me, we had no control over what happened"
Rex still recalled Fives saying the nightmares were over with his dying breath, general Skywalker was oblivious, not understanding what they meant but all the clones in the room just looked at each other knowing exactly what he was saying.
Then he remembered what Tup said, Before the purge his words disturbed the clone Captain but now they only comforted him...'good soldiers follow orders'
'good soldiers follow orders'
'good soldiers follow orders'
