TAMING HAZEL

CHAPTER NINE

Wendy's POV

I know I'm being extremely forward but I just can't help it. This is my best friend we are talking about here and it's my duty to have her back  whether she likes it or not. Klaus is a good man  and he loves Hazel dearly, I can't let her loose such a good because of some past event that she keeps holding onto. Even if she hates me after this, I'll be at ease with my conscience when her baby grows up knowing his or her father.

This is the same mistake most women have made in the past and their children are the onse who have suffered the effects. I won't allow my best friend join that crew.

Never!

I'm being led into Klaus' office by a very pretty woman whose smile can light up a dark room. She has been nothing but nice to me since we met.
Once we walk into Klaus' office and he sees me, he gets up from his chair clearly surprised.

"You can excuse us now Gloria, thank you for bringing her in"

"You're welcome" The pretty woman leaves the office and it's just Klaus and I right now .

"Please have a sit"

"Thank you" I say as I make myself comfortable on the chair opposite his.

"What can I offer you?"

"Nah, that won't be necessary. I just came to makes certain things clear to you"

"I..I hope all is well"

"All is not well"

"Did something happen to Hazel?" He asks concerned.

"No, Hazel's fine"

"Alright then. So what's boiling?"

"Hazel"

"Okay, now I'm confused. Can you please come clear?"

"I know it's not my place to tell you all of this but for the sake of my unborn niece or nephew, I'm letting the cat out of the bag"

"O...Kay" he says nodding slightly and I can tell from his looks that he's confused.

" Hazel is a victim of rape"

"Oh my God" He exclaims sadly.

"Yeah, three guys gang raped her when she was nineteen years old, that's how she lost her virginity"

" How..how did that happen?" He asks huskily.

"Hazel has been through a lot in the hands of men especially her very own father. As a child he assaulted her over and over and that's how she grew. She watched her father maltreat and beat up her mother everyday but couldn't do anything because that's the same treatment she got"

"That's... that's just, that's just very heartbreaking to hear"

"Yeah. The night she got raped she was trying to get help . Her father had gotten both her and her mother well beaten to the extent that he had pushed her mother against the wall which caused her to hit her head. She bled to death and that happened right before Hazel. When she ran out to get help she got raped instead and when her boyfriend learnt about what happened, he left her saying she was defied. That's why she's so bitter towards men. She always tells me that her relationship with a man will never go beyond sex and that's why she keeps turning down your proposal"
