♡~ hitoka's bakery ~ ♡

As I was about to leave my apartment, I discreetly glanced around the hallway in hopes to not meet any of my neighbors. After yesterday's fiasco, I vowed to myself that I would not have any interaction between Kinu or Mr. Arms to prevent further embarrassment.

Giving myself the green light, I quickly exited my place and locked the door, making my way down the flight of stairs.

Today, I have work at my friend's bakery, later I have to visit the library to return the old workout DVD set, and lastly, I have to work out at the gym tonight because today's lesson with master Loco encouraged it. Something about independence and knowing how to properly create and pace a self-workout.

With an ardent puff, I continued down the road, making my way to work.

Arriving at work, the doors chimes rang, announcing my presence. Darting my eyes straight to the counter, I saw my friend, Hitoka, staring back at me with a soft smile on her face.

"Y/n! You're here!" She greeted.

I made my way to her with a grin of my own and hugged her. "Hey!"

As I placed my purse behind the front counter, I walked over to where the aprons are hidden in a cabinet on the back.

"I brought my stuff for tonight," Hitoka beamed at me from behind.

Finishing the knot on the back of the apron, I turned around to face her.

I nodded my head excitedly, already eager for the night to come.

Hitoka and I had planned a sleepover at my place, something we did quite often as we rarely had time to meet each other after we finished college. The impeding fastball that was life would make it be that I rarely had free time, as I was either working to become financially stable or working on physical workouts to train my body.

On the other hand, Hitoka was working hard on becoming a graphic designer and would also work shifts in her family's bakery. As a way to help around, I decided to apply, knowing that her family would be grateful and that I would be granted work.

As things currently stood, she and I would have little time to get together and hang out as friends, but, of course, we would never allow for our friendship to cease.

"We're still down for seven, right?"

I hummed. "It'll give me enough time to head to the library and work out," I told her.

Tying my hair up in a low ponytail, I continued.

"Oh, my god, wait until you hear about the last few days I've had," I said cringing.

Her eyes widened. "Is everything alright?"

"If you mean completely embarrassing myself in front of a stranger who happens to be my new neighbor alright, then everything is dandy!"

Hitoka laughed but quickly shook it off. "Can't wait to hear."

Before I could respond, the door chimed, signaling a customer had entered the bakery.

Without another word from us, we quickly got to work.

The shift went by smoothly. The bakery was a popular one that rested in the corner of (area)'s busy street, meaning that we had very little time to lounge off or rest.
