IMPORTANT TO NOTE BEFORE YOU READ:
Ellegaard is dead, Romeo and Xara both alive, and Petra was the Champion lol (Also, Aiden, Radar and Stella are like a year or two younger then Jesse and the gang)
ANYWAY...The terminal portal collapsed, sending a shockwave in all directions. There was a strong gust of wind that pushed against Jesse. He instinctively ran towards his friends and tried to cover them. He felt something hit his back, knocking the air out of him. Then everything went black.
---
He began to feel a burning sensation on his skin. His body was getting hotter- He was on fire!
He got up as quickly as he could. Jesse tried his best to stop the flames, patting his arms and chest frantically trying to put it out. It didn't. He fell back against a tall oak tree. The fire slowly dissipated. He tried his best not to touch the burns all over his body.
He held up one arm to get a good look. His hands had a slight green hue, with the new reddish burn marks across his palms.
"What the hell?" He looked around at the quiet forest, trying to figure out how he had been set on fire. There was nothing. Once Jesse realized there was no fire, he relaxed. Though he did spot a nearby lava lake. Maybe that was the cause?
Honestly, he was just relieved that the whole Admin situation was done for. He took Romeo out of the terminal and as soon as he did he was... Hm. Jesse couldn't remember what happened? All he knew was that he woke up nowhere near the portal or even Beacon Town.
Jesse spotted Petra laying in the middle of the clearing, not moving at all.
He gasped, and tried to reach out to touch her. As soon as his hand left the shade of the tree, he felt the burning again. His hand lit on fire. He immediately pulled it back and patted his hand into the dirt to stop the fire. Then it disappeared again.
Realizing that he couldn't be in the sunlight, Jesse called out to Petra. No response. He called out again, and she still wouldn't move. Her head was turned away from him. Jesse couldn't tell if she could hear him or not. He decided to try and quickly grab her and pull her under the shade of the tree.
In doing so, he caused himself to catch on fire yet again. Jesse pulled from under her arms into the shade and lay her down with a huff. He ignored the violent stinging to try and wake up Petra.
Jesse leaned in, looking for any sign of breathing. Then he noticed her chest rising and falling slowly. He sighed with relief. Jesse lightly shook her in order to wake her up. Petra made a face. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around. Then, she spotted Jesse. A quiet "What..?" came out of her mouth. She coughed.
Jesse put one had on her back, "Glad you're alive," He said jokingly. When she turned to look at him, he was startled. Her eyes were a deep shade of purple, and they were glowing.
Petra shook her head and sat up, "What the-- Where are we? Where is everyone?" She stared at the dense birch forest around them.
"Well, uh- " He elected to ignore her eyes for now. "I think something knocked us out of town," Jesse looked up at the clouds rolling by.
She rubbed her arm, "Well that explains why I hurt," Petra closed her eyes and leaned back on one hand, "But man. I'm so glad that the Admin is gone, right Jesse?" She smiled calmly.
He blinked. He hadn't been paying attention and decided to ask her.. "Petra?" Jesse tried to get a closer look, "Does it hurt?" Her small smile disappeared and she gained a nervous look.
"What do you mean," She laughed, confused as to what he was talking about.
He blinked, "Your eyes changed somehow," She just sat there, completely lost.
Jesse thought about his fire problem. "Do you feel like your burning at all?"
She laughed awkwardly, "What are you talking about? Did you hit your head on something, dude?"
He realized how weird it was to ask questions like that without context. "Your eyes, they're purple for some reason." He pointed at them, and she shook her head slightly.
"Uh, I don't know?.. Are you trying to make a joke?" Petra didn't seem to believe what he was saying. "How would I know anyway, right?" She sat up and crossed her legs.
He shook his head and sat up with her, "That's true.. Are my eyes still brown?"
She looked at his eyes then shrugged, "Yep."
"Okay," Jesse suddenly felt tense for some reason. As if at any moment, something bad would happen. He wasn't really sure why. He glanced over, and saw Petra, leaning back on her arms with her eyes closed. Seeing now relaxed she was made him feel just a little calmer.
"Petra?" He asked.
"Yeah?" She turned to him.
"Alright.. I know this might sound crazy," Jesse began. He knew he would have to either assume she trusts her, or show her. He really, really didn't want to have to show her. "But.. I start burning when I'm in the sunlight."
Petra was definitely confused, and her eyes seemed to dim slightly. "What, like a skeleton?" She stared at the marks on his arms.
"I think so," Jesse was worried she didn't believe him so he scooted closer to the edge of the shadow that was protecting him. The sun had started to set, and the shadows were a lot longer then before. "If you don't believe me, I can..-"
Petra reached for his arm to stop him, "No, no, I believe you - almost. It isn't really impossible considering what we went through." He pulled his hand away from the edge and scooted back to Petra again.
She thought for a second, then asked, "Well what does that mean for me?"
Jesse saw no burns on her hands or face. "I don't think it happened to you actually," The sun was setting now, the forest was slowly getting darker. "But I don't think we have to worry about that right now."
Petra nodded and got up, offering her hand to help Jesse up. He took it, and noticed the burns had very quickly disappeared. However, there were a few scars that remained.
As he got up, Petra nudged him playfully with her elbow. He was calm knowing things were going to be alright. The two of them stepped out from under the leaves and began walking.
