"No! I am not alright!" Aiden's voice cracked and echoed across the abandoned city landscape. He covered his ears completely with dirty hands.
A yellow flame grew across his back. He covered his face. "I-I hurt them! They-" He breathed heavily, "They had to get away before the forest burnt down,- " Aiden choked. Two blaze rods appeared, floating next to him.
Petra wasn't really sure what to think. Aiden seemed genuinely upset. And if he wasn't, then he was just a really good liar. She wasn't sure what may have happened to him in the time they left him but.. Seeing him like this did make her feel a little bad. Petra nudged Jesse.
He looked to her, then put his sword away. He wasn't sure what was wrong, but he knew he had to help Aiden somehow. Jesse held out his hand.
The fiery rods dissipated as Jesse helped the man to his feet. Aiden brushed some dirt off his cheek and mumbled, "What do you want?" He pulled his hand away from Jesse's.
"It's just good to help people is all," Jesse responded quietly.
Aiden was visibly tense as he returned his gaze back to the jungle leaves. Jesse wanted to know what happened to his people.
Now that he wasn't as upset, maybe they could get some information from him..
"What happened to Beacon Town?" Jesse questioned. He still felt heartbroken that his home had been destroyed again.
"Like I know," Aiden answered, "It was like this when I arrived." He regained his confident posture for a moment.
"Strange," was all Jesse could say. He and his friends had been knocked nearly two biomes away.. Who knows what happened to everyone else?
The full moon was above them now, and clouds began to form. A cold, quiet breeze went through the group of adventurers.
Jesse paused for a moment before talking again, "We better search for them," He put his sword away, "Or at the very least, find Jack and Radar."
Lukas and Petra nodded. "You can come with us if you want, by the way," Jesse offered, Aiden almost said something before slightly nodding.
Jesse climbed down the vines, followed by Petra, Aiden and..? Lukas jumped right off of the leaves, falling past the three of them. Jesse watched Lukas land, not hurting himself at all.
When the group reached the base of the tree, Petra exclaimed, "How'd you do that Lukas?" She stepped forward.
Lukas put a hand in his hair, "Oh, that's a new thing I learned how to do," He explained. "I think it has to do with my new - erm," he wasn't exactly comfortable with it yet. "You know."
Petra thought, "You mean we might have like - The powers of whatever monster we are?" She seemed interested.
Jesse thought about the burns he gained when he woke up a few days earlier. "Well now that makes me wonder what we can do," He laughed a little.
Lukas asked, "Well, what are you guys then?"
Petra put her hand to her chin, "I think something undead?" Jesse looked to her as she continued, "Like a zombie or a skeleton maybe."
Lucas thought about how Jesse had been avoiding sunlight during their journey back to Beacon Town. He thought about how Jesse was only ever awake at night now. "That makes sense?" Jesse's very apparent green hued skin. "I think you might've become - part zombie or something."
Jesse thought. "Oh hey you're probably right." He remembered the first night - before they ran into Lukas. "When me and Petra were by ourselves, a zombie showed up but didn't try to kill us at all."
Petra smiled, "Oh yeah, I remember that."
The four of them were quiet before Lukas asked, "Shouldn't we go to Redstonia or Boom Town to see how Olivia and Axel are doing?"
Aiden, confused, asked, "Who the hell are Axel and Olivia?"
Jesse turned to him, and said a little sternly, "My friends who you called losers."
"Oh." His head tilted lower.

As the adventurers made their way across some more plains, they began to see the ocean on the horizon. The moon was high above them. The stars were covered by thick grey clouds. A single drop of water fell on Jesse's cheek. Jesse brushed it off his face then looked up at the night sky.
Another drop. And then a few more. Jesse heard the rain begin to sprinkle on his armour. Out of the quiet of their travelling, Petra started grumbling. She tried covering her shoulders with her hands, before she suddenly took damage.
The red hue flashed all over her body and she flinched at it. She spotted a lone tree growing in a patch of tall grass and ran towards it. Jesse glanced behind him and noticed Aiden following her, getting hurt as well.
Lukas looked at the two under the tree then at Jesse. "What are you guys doing?" Aiden once again had rods floating around him, and Petra was surrounded by purple particles.
Petra answered, "I don't know! The rain was hurting me!" She hugged her arms. Jesse and Lukas went over to their companions under the leaves.
Petra cursed and brushed the water off. She now had an idea of what she was but.. It wasn't exactly important right now.
"We stopped again." She glanced at Aiden who wasn't paying attention. "I wish this would just go away," She grumbled and slide down the trunk of the tree, her knees close to her chest.
"I guess we just wait until the rain goes away," Lukas said, "We needed a break anyway."
Jesse agreed and the two of them sat next to Petra.
