Jesse and Petra walked side by side through the darkness of the woods. The white bark of the trees glowed slightly under the moon's light.

Not only was it dark, but they were totally lost, too. Neither of them could tell where they were. Petra suggested they may be east of Beacon Town, as she once saw a birch forest in that direction. She wanted to follow the sun. Jesse decided to agree and follow her.

The quietness of their walk was interrupted by the low growl of a zombie, accompanied by rustling in some nearby grass. It came from in front of them, and Jesse pulled out his sword.

The groan grew louder, and a zombie fumbled out from behind a tree. Jesse prepared to attack, but the zombie simply looked at the two of them, grunted, and turned to wander away. The two heroes stood still, confused. "Why did it just go away?" Petra asked, staring at where it walked off to. She lowered her sword and looked to him for an answer.

"I'm not sure.. We're safe, I guess?" Jesse put the sword away. He shook his head. "We should just keep walking, I'm sure we'll reach a familiar area soon." Petra took his hand and they began to walk again. Jesse felt a less concerned about the strange night they'd been experiencing, and more about getting back home.

~Meanwhile~

Lukas ran through the unfamiliar surroundings. His feet hit the dirt hard, the moans of skeletons and zombies were catching up with. The moon shined high above him, but it barely lit his path through the birch trees.

His ability to see through the darkness seemed to be a good thing right now. After the blast which apparently knocked him straight out of Beacon Town, he gained new attributes. Though they were mostly useless to him, he still was glad it helped him see better. The only thing he could tell was different were his new feline tail and ears.

He came to a sudden halt, realizing he had met the edge of a cliff. The swarm of monsters surrounded him. He had to think fast.

Lukas looked down, barely able to see a glint of grass. If he were to jump, he may be able to survive. He looked back at the mass of creatures, and jumped. He closed his eyes waiting for a painful impact, but his body moved in a backwards direction. He landed on his feet, one arm on the ground and the other behind him.

Amazed, and still full of adrenaline, Lukas continued to run away from the hoard.

He wasn't paying attention to where exactly he was going, and he crashed into a tree. Or, rather, he thought it was a tree until he looked and saw that it was a person. Whoever it was scrambled out from under him, "I'm sorry!" he said loudly. He was so tired.

Jesse gasped at the sight of his lost friend, "Lukas?" He questioned, not sure if it was actually him or if he was imagining things. It didn't matter. He reached out to help him.

Lukas looked up to see a familiar face.

"Jesse?" Lukas immediately hugged him, so grateful that he was okay. He noticed Petra standing behind him smiling as well. "Petra it's so good to see you guys again!" He huffed, his body had caught up to him and now he realized how exhausted he was.

Lukas didn't go in for a hug (He knew how she didn't like them) and instead shook her hand. "Man, you look worse for wear," She teased.

"Yeah well, being chased by a ton of mobs can do that to you," he remembered the chase that ensued, and the cliff he fell off of. "Oh I almost forgot-" he grabbed his book out of it's bag.

Lukas took out the quill he always carried with him, and began to jot his thoughts down. Jesse noticed movement behind his friend's back. Jesse was curious, "What happened to you?" he pointed to what he believed to be a tail.

"I'm not really sure.. I thought I was hallucinating to be honest." Lukas said nonchalantly. He wrote something down then looked up at them. "Hey, what happened to your eyes Petra?" He pointed to her.

Petra flinched.. And she strangely felt upset. She wasn't entirely sure why, as she never really cared about her appearance all that much. "Uh.. I don't know," Was all she said. She pried her eyes away from his and held her arms. She looked up at the sky.

Lukas wasn't sure if he somehow upset her. He decided to try and ignore it, unless she were to say something of course. Jesse didn't seem to notice and spoke for her, "Well it might have had something to do with the explosion of the portal."

"Odd." Lukas put his book away and looked up at the sky along with Petra. ".. Well it looks like it'll be a while before morning comes, we should probably get to bed."

Jesse quickly looked through his inventory. "Well I have nothing.."

Before Jesse could ask, Petra pulled out plenty of wool blocks. "Looks like we can all hit the hay."
