Jesse's eye opened slowly. Apparently his eye had somehow gone missing without him noticing? The trio of friends mostly joked about it, and Jesse had forgotten it even happened by the time he fell asleep. But when he opened his eyelids, he could very much tell there was a missing part of him.

He was laying underneath a very tall birch tree they had chosen to sleep under the night before.

He turned over. Petra was laying right next to him, her face next to his. He closed his eyes again and pretended to fall back asleep.

Lukas came out from some tall grass holding chicken. He had left early in the morning to go get food for everyone. He set the meat in a small chest and turned around to see Petra and Jesse still asleep.

He reached into his bag and pulled out his journal. He didn't want to wake them up anyway. Lukas decided to start writing to pass the time, he sat down on the grass near their beds and began jotting down his thoughts about the night before.

The thoughts of his new "powers" made him think.. If he and Petra seemed to look different, it may mean that they had gained some new abilities because of the blast from the Admin's portal.

Lukas was mostly sure what he had become. An ocelot. It was ironic, really.

He thought and wrote about their newest adventure for a while before he heard Petra mumble something and sit up.

Her hair was a mess, but she didn't care and put on her bandana. Petra barely noticed Lukas and stood up to stretch.

"Good morning," Lukas said, still sitting by her side of the bed. Petra jumped and turned around.

"Oh-" she relaxed and yawned. "Morning, man."

"There's some food over there if your hungry," Lukas pointed to the chest with his quill. She went over and opened it, the loud creaking seemed to wake up Jesse.

He groaned oddly - and opened his eyes. "I just had the weirdest dream," He announced to no one in particular. He turned to look at his friends and blinked. "Oh."

Lukas' ear twitched and he shrugged. "I was kind of hoping that too," he smiled. Jesse rubbed his eyes, walking over to where Petra was.

Petra frowned as she picked up the raw chicken, "You couldn't find a way to cook it at all?"

Lukas shrugged again, "Well I didn't have much time to gather cobblestone."

That remark gave Jesse an idea. "Well I'm sure me and Petra can go find some." He looked at her, "Besides, I'll find it the fastest," he said.

"Yeah right," Petra was already walking towards a nearby cave. "I could get way more in less time." They both laughed and Jesse raced her towards it.

---

They had made a small dirt roof over the cave. He was still rightfully worried about getting lit on fire after all. So once he'd gained the blocks he needed, Jesse smiled, "I have exactly 8 blocks!" He looked to Petra, who had her back to him. "How much did you get?"

She kept mining the stone, ignoring him. Jesse walked up to her and tapped he her the shoulder, "We have more then enough, lets head back."

Petra turned to him and he froze. Her eyes were entirely purple and it was as if she was staring straight into his soul. He clutched the stone he'd mined with hands that refused to move.

She opened her mouth as if to talk, but nothing came out. She dropped her pickaxe and simply held the cobblestone in both hands.

He managed to tear his eyes away from hers and shook her shoulders. "Hey,-" He didn't want to look up again, "Petra snap out of it!"

He heard her gasp, and he looked up. She blinked, and her eyes returned to be fairly normal. "Jesse?" He sighed, relieved that she wasn't in that strange trance anymore. Jesse took his hands off of her, but still tried to avoid eye contact.

She put her hands on her head, "Ugh, I have a headache." She looked at him, "You okay?" Jesse realized how much he was shaking. How come he felt so afraid? He didn't know what to say, either. Jesse wasn't even sure if he should tell her..

He decided not to, "Nothing." He rubbed his hands together nervously.

"It's nothing. Lets head back so we can get Lukas and leave this place," he grabbed her hand. Petra, worried something had happened, didn't respond. Did she do something wrong?

The three of them packed up all they needed. Jesse could make out in the distance the open plains. Maybe they could be out of the woods by nightfall..
