The next day, Sun awoke and found herself in a blizzard. She crossed to the window and looked out. What she saw was white. All white, nothing else. Jack had outdone himself. All she asked for was a snow day. Not a snow week! She had all the time in the world to study.

Sun realized that Jack could be outside her window now.

She quickly opened it.

Big mistake! Snow came crashing down onto Sun. She was buried in the snow. Sun couldn't think. The cold fogged up her brain. She hadn't been this could ever since-- She gasped for air and fought her way out of the snow.

Well not really. It was more like she had melted the snow. The was a girl shaped hole in the middle of the snow pile. She grabbed the blankets off her bed and huddled under them. The only thing she thought of was the cold winter snow. She hadn't forgotten what had happened that day a few years back, but this was worse than that.

That time it had been just a touch, this was a mountain of snow! She couldn't get warm, no matter how many blankets she put on. The wind moved the window open and shut, open and shut.

"ELENA! GET IN HERE! WE HAVE TO TALK!" Once again her brother's loud annoying voice saved her. Sun snapped out of her cold daze and ran out her door, slamming it. She wanted to forget that open window and the cold surrounding it.

She entered the living room. There was a fire going and a cup of coffee waiting on the table. She grabbed the cup and sat down by the fire. She needed to get warm.

"Wow. Are you that tired Ellie?" Her mom joked.

"What?" Sun didn't get it.

"You rolled right out of bed! You took the blankets with you!"

"Oh, oh, I guess your right." She managed a smile. "So what did you need me for? You sent Tommy out to get me." She rolled her eyes over to her brother and gave him a don't-wake-me-up-again look.

"Oh, yes." Her dad cut in. "well as you can clearly tell, it's a snow day."

"YAY!" Her siblings cheered. She had two brothers - Tommy and Mikey, and one sister - Sally. Tommy was 11, Mikey was 9 almost 10, and Sally was 8. Sun was 15. Of course, no one knew she was Sun Drop. The only person that did was Jack Frost.

She used to be Elena, the sophomore, Elena the I'm-the-only-one-without-a-permit-or-car girl. Was she popular? Kind of. She had friends, not a lot, not a few, but less than the popular crowd did. But that doesn't matter in our story.

Ever since Elena found out she was Sun, she had acted normal. Like it didn't happen. But it had, and she couldn't change that. She had met Jack Frost three years ago.

He had been riding the cold icy winds one evening and had run into Sun's window, and fallen onto her fire escape. She didn't know what to do. She didn't know what happened. She had just found a teenager, covered in frost, out cold on her fire escape. He had crushed her dieing sunflowers, and they turned frosty as his hand lay on them. She didn't touch him. She though she would burn him. Sun had only had her "powers" for about two weeks and didn't know how to control them. So she let him sleep there, out in the cold, and she went to bed.

The next morning, there were pictures drawn in the frost on her window. They'd been friends since then. Keeping each other's secrets, and keeping each other company since she was all Jack had.

"Hey now be quiet or you won't know what's going to happen!" Her dad's voice cut through her sibiling's cheers. They quieted, and he continued. "Mom and I have to get out there to go to work. That blizzard won't stop us!" Sun shivered. She hated the cold now more than ever, and the thought of him going out there in that storm...

"Dad you can't!" Sun cried. "You'll get killed out there!" Her parents looked dumbfounded, Sally looked close to tears. "I mean--"

"It's OK Elena, I know it's a big storm, but I'll be fine." Her dad said softly looking Sun in the eyes. She looked away. Her eyes were almost golden. They were the windows to her soul. Windows to her powers. That was true to everyone like her. She called them Legends. What else would you call people like her? It was the same with Jack. He was basically the master of all things cold and winter-y. Therefor, his blue eyes looked frozen.

Her dad continued, "Your mom will be out buying extra supplies. Blankets, food, water."

"But-- But why?" Sally asked.

"In case anything were to happen, we have everything we need." Her mom said gently.

"She'll be back soon, or as soon as she can. The traffic will be horrible..." Sun's dad muttered this last part along with some other things that scared her brothers and sister. They inched closer to Sun and the fire. Trying to get under the blankets like it was suddenly cold in the room.

Then she realized it was colder now. Jack! That feeling that she got from the snow, that was him! She got up, leaving the blankets to fall on her sibilings, and ran to her room. As she threw open the door, she heard shouts from her parents to get back in the living room and listen to what was going on. She slammed the door and looked up, breathless.

Jack Frost was sitting on the ever-growing snow pile. It was more like a mountain now. The window was open wider now, and more snow was falling in, Jack would add this new snow to his mountain. Sun shivered. Whatever heat she had gained from the fire had gone out the window. Literally.

"Hey," Jack said.

"Hey?! You turned my room into a freezer! You froze me! You scared everyone! Now my parents are going out to the store and I have to watch my brothers and sister! I can't chat if that's what you want. I asked for a snow day not for a week and not for a month!"

In the short pause that followed, with Sun and Jack looking at each other, their breath coming in little puffs that you could see, they both heard little hands knocking on her door. "Elena? Who are you yelling at?" It was Sally, her voice was short and came out a little at a time in sniffs, as if she'd been crying. "We can hear you down the hall. I'm scared."

"One second Sally," Sun said gently then pointed to the window, "Jack. Later. This is important." She whispered harshly. She meant it. Jack looked at Sun then the window and back again. Finally he glided out the window and closed it. Leaving the chill, and the snow there. Sun quickly melted it, leaving a big wet puddle on her carpet. She threw some towels on it, then opened the door.

There was Sally. Her nose was red. She had been crying. "Come here," Was all Sun said. She bent down and held out her arms. Her sister hugged her and they went inside Sun's room and cryed together.
