"Did he give you a name?" Sun questioned Tommy as they walked down the hall.
"No, he just asked for you."
"Okay, you guys chill, I'll get it." Sun walked up to the door and opened it. "Hello?"
"Are you Elena Drofeld?" There was a tall man with sandy blond hair standing in the doorway. He wore a suit; the shirt was a sand colored yellow, his pants and coat black, and his tie was midnight blue with a moon in the top left corner. Sun felt shabby and small in her sweat pants, sweat shirt, messy hair and bunny slippers. She slowly slipped them off as she talked.
"Yes. Who are you?"
"I'm Samuel M. Nyite and I'm here because of your little date last night."
Sun blinked and looked up at him. How could he have known? "Okay... well, I was in my room last yesterday studying for my finals."
"Yeah, I don't think so."
"What?"
"Look here." He commanded, pulling out a tablet. It showed Sun and Jack last night, laughing and talking. As Sun watched some more, the screen showed the part of last night where her pillow caught fire and Jack froze the flame.
"I-- Um..."
"This isn't natural. You and your friend here are in some trouble."
Sun's worst fears were coming true. This man was going to take her away and lock her up in a government facility! "Um..."
"You two kids aren't supposed to show off your, well, "talents" like that."
Sun was speechless, she just looked at Samuel and hoped he couldn't see the look of pure panic and fear on her face.
"You guys have to come with me and my friends to our facility so we can--"
"NO! You can't!"
Samuel just looked at Sun and continued talking while Sally, Tommy, and Mikey were watching. "We want to train you two."
"Who?"
"The..." He scratched the back of his neck, "Well we don't have a name yet... but we teach Legends to use their powers in controlled ways so that one day they can fight evil if it ever arises.
"You've got to be kidding me. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Teach me to fight evil. Right!" Sun laughed, Samuel was shocked. He was opened mouthed, gaping at her.
"I'm serious. That's what we do."
Sun wiped a tear away and quieted for a second then started laughing again. "Oh my god, I'm sorry. It's just so... so... I don't know, fake? Is that the word I'm looking for? I don't know it just sounds--"
"Made up? That's what I thought at first but now I'm the strongest I've ever been."
"I still don't believe you."
"You don't believe me? That's normal."
"Okay..."
"Look, just come with me and--"
"No!" Sun clinched her hands into fists and before she knew what was happening, her fists were on fire and she had burned a hole in Samuel's jacket!
She stood back, her eyes wide. "I-- I didn't mean to!" She walked backwards.
"It's fine." He acted like the small fire wasn't there. " I know it sounds crazy, so I'll give you a month to think it over."
"Okay," Was all Sun could say. She stepped away from the door and into the living room where Sally, Tommy, and Mikey were watching TV.
"What was that about?" Tommy asked.
"Oh, nothing."
"Tell us!" Demanded Sally.
"He was a teacher at my school."
"You lie!"
"He's a sub and I didn't turn in a project so he feels the need to come over to our pent house and tell me about it."
"Then how come you walked backwards like that."
"No reason."
"Lies! Your lying!"
" Whatever." Sun walked back to her room to tell Jack about what just happened.
"Jack! Come here, you'll never believe what just happened!" Sun laughed as she walked to the window. "Really! It's funny."
She looked around. "Hello? Jack?" Then Sun went and sat on her bed and waited. "Anyways I know your out there so I'll tell you what happened. This guy comes and knocks on our door and he tells me to join this crazy organization or whatever! He's giving me a month to talk about it but I already know the answer! NO WAY!" She smiled and looked at the window.
"Tell me your out there, I just spent like 2 minutes telling you this." She laughed. "Hello?"

Every day Sun would go over to the fire escape and wait for Jack. Every morning and every night. He never came though, that morning, when the month was up, Sun went to the fire escape and when she wasn't expecting Jack to be there, he wasn't. She was right, no Jack, but there was a letter. It was tinged with pink and had gold leafing. Sun read:
Hello Elena.
You don't know me, but I know you. I've been watching you over the years and I believe that it is your time. Your time to join my army. Your time to reach your full potential.
But I know that you won't accept my invation (seeing what you did with Samuel's recruit), I decided to take what was most important to you.
Your precious Jack Frost.
Then everything happened at once, Samuel knocked on the front door, Tommy ran down to her room and yelled for her, Sun felt something cold on the letter and looked down; it was Jack's blood. It was frozen over and spattered over the bottom of the card.
Sun dropped the letter and ran out of the fire escape, pushed passed Tommy at her door, and ran to Samuel. He could see the fear in her eyes.
"I'm ready."
