It was raining. Raining cats and dogs.

The rain angrily hit the ground and thunder roared out in the sky.

In the midst of this weather tantrum, a small diner buzzed, with people glancing out to stare at the rain in curiousty.

As chatter filled the diner so did the smell of food.

Waiters and waitresses ran around, excited for their last shifts. Counting down the minutes until they could go home.

One girl quietly worked. Not standing out that much and keeping herself as more of a wall flower.

This was Y/N. A 21 year old who only worked at this diner to help her mom.

She did her duties almost gracefully and rarely spoke to her co workers unless needed be.

She was quiet but efficient.

As she performed her duties, Y/N glanced up at the sound of bell twinkling. Probably the last customer for the night.

A tall woman walked in. Wearing a black raincoat and a stern expression. Her long red hair and vibrant eyes made her stand out.

As another waiter found her a booth, heads turned from other customers, gawking at the woman's beauty.

Whispers of excitement filled the small diner. But one person grimaced in annoyance.

"Y/N. She's asking for you again". Y/Ns manager said nodding to where the tall woman sat.

Again? God.

This tall woman had been coming in every day for the past two weeks. Always at the same time and always wearing dark clothing.

Y/N had felt unnerved since the first time she had looked at her. Something about the woman seemed just off. Something almost not human.

For some reason, Y/N just felt sick to her to her stomach being around this lady.

But for some reason the lady liked her. She asked for Y/N to be her server over and over again.

Staring at Y/N in an almost hungry way and making small talk.

Y/N sighed and took out the small iPad they used for orders.

Forcing a small fake smile on her face she went to where the scarlet haired beauty sat.

"Hi! Back again huh? What can I get you tonight?" She asked as soon as she stood near the red headed woman.

Almost instantly the red haired woman smiled widely.

"Y/N. You look pretty tonight. Oh I'll just have my usual please and a coke instead of tea tonight". She purred staring at Y/N with that same predatory look.

Y/N felt so damn uncomfortable.

This woman was seriously weird. And she never really gave out her name. She always paid in cash and left without mentioning her name to anyone.

It was beyond odd.

"Sure. Coming right up". Y/N said and quickly scurried away with the iPad.

As she sent out the order, Y/N could feel the red haired lady's eyes on her, watching her every move.

God what was with this lady?

"Ah blessed lady be looking at you". Snickered one of her co workers. A stocky server named Manny who talked too much.

"Yeah I know" Y/N sighed as she headed towards the kitchen area.

As she was performing for her duties, Y/N could feel the woman watching her every move. It was like a tiger eyeing its meal.

As soon as the order was ready, Y/N carried the plate towards the red head, and giving her everything she ordered.

"Here you are. Need anything else?" She asked as the red haired woman glanced down at her food.

"Scarlet".

Y/N froze a bit.

"Uh pardon?"

"That's my name. I'm Scarlet". The red haired beauty said in a low voice as she looked back up to Y/N.

Her eyes made Y/N feel almost dizzy. As if she could be in a trance.

"Oh uh. Nice to meet you. At least I finally know your name". Y/N said faking a laugh as she itched to run off.

"Y/N. Get a move on". Hissed her manager running by her to another table.

"Oh well I better go. Let me know if you need anything". Y/N said hurriedly as she scurried off.

For the rest of the last hour, Y/N kept glancing over at Scarlet, but only to meet her eyes. Her calm but darkening eyes.

When Scarlet finally left, Y/N sighed, clocking out and walking out to her car in a silent exhaustion.

It was dark outside. The buzz of mosquitos and other small bugs filtered the air.

As she was opening her car door, Y/N heard a voice behind her.

"Y/N?"

Y/N glanced at the window reflection, seeing it was Scarlet, smiling at her widely.

"Oh uh Scarlet. Thought you left.. is there anything you need?"

Y/N said as she looked back at her.

Scarlets red hair blew gently in the cold wind that whistled with an eerie hum.

"I was wondering.. could I have your number? You seem really nice and well I don't have a lot of friends". Scarlet said showing Y/N her phone screen

Y/N paused.. she didn't really want too. But then Scarlet was a woman. Kind of a creepy pretty woman but she seemed harmless ... right?

Though she hesitated a lot, Y/N gave Scarlet her number, and then drove off.

Glancing to see Scarlet standing in the diner parking a lot, the lights creating a strange halo effect with her red hair.

And as she drove off, Y/N felt like she had made a big mistake, and she didn't realize just how right she was.
