Y/N L/N had never considered herself anything special. She liked to think that she was just a normal, hardworking, good enough person who just went through life.

Breezed by it so to speak.

She was plain (or so she always thought) with an average enough intelligence and alright manners.

Y/N thought of herself as the one who never stood out. A back ground character. A mob even.. Just someone you would look at twice.

After all, beautiful people and beautiful stories, they only ever happened to the lucky few.

It was a Friday night, or technically early morning, as Y/N was silently thinking to herself.

More precisely, it was nearly 2am, and it was almost the end of her shift.

She worked at a small 7/11, making enough to help pay for her tiny apartment, and just survive off.

It wasn't a bad job but the downside was having to deal with some weirdos so late at night.

As she stood behind the counter glancing down sneakily over at her phone screen, counting down the minutes until she could head home, the sound of the door opening startled her.

A grumpy older man walked in wearing a raincoat and looking frazzled.

"It's raining outside. Make sure you keep warm". He grunted as she nodded and scampered to the back.

Relieved that finally she could get off work, she signed out, then hastily packed up her things, grabbing a small umbrella out of her backpack.

Finally ready, she headed to the front where her co worker, a grumpy 40 something year old Tom stood by the register.

"See you tomorrow Tom". She said with a small smile.

"Yeah". Was his response as he watched her leave while wearing an expression of 'Do I really need this job?' Shone on his face.

Snickering to herself, she opened up the umbrella and stepped out into the thundering rain.

It was a damn storm. The rain angrily pelting the ground and everything in its path.

A clap of thunder nearly made her jump.

The streetlights hazily flickered off and on.

"Damn I forgot my rain boots". Y/N muttered to herself as she could feel her sneakers being drenched.

As she trudged through the downpour, trying to make sure she didn't slip, she found herself looking over at a hunched over figure.

It was a person.

As she got closer, she gasped at the state of the completely soaked person, their long black hair covered their face.

They were on their knees almost gasping as if they were out of breath.

Y/N had never been much of a savior but she knew whoever this was they needed help.

Swooping down next to them, she aimed the umbrella over their head, and gently touched their shoulder.

They jumped and looked up at her tears in their eyes.

Wow.

Y/N had seen a fair share of few beautiful people in her life. But she had never seen someone as gorgeous as this person.

While completely soaked, their large grey eyes held firmly with hers, their pale but smooth (now wet ) skin almost looked unreal. With long lashes and an over all extremely pretty appearance, Y/N felt herself go speechless for a moment.

Or maybe a second. She snapped out of it real quick.

"Are you okay? You're completely drenched. Do you need some help?" She asked feeling more and more worried as her eyes swooped over this pretty persons body.

They wore a soaked thin black shirt and small Booty shorts that showed off their long almost lanky legs.

Bruises were pelted all over their legs and arms.

Whoever or whatever had really done a number on this.. girl?

She couldn't tell their gender.

"No. I'm f-fine". Said the girl (?) with a low voice and a shaky voice.

"No you are not fine. My apartment is just right down the street. At least come with me so I can get you out of this rain. Or do you want to get pneumonia?" She said urgently as the pretty persons eyes clouded over in both confusion and hesitation.

Finally, they nodded as they slowly got up, Y/N having to grab a hold of them as they seemed to not be able to stand properly.

Oh my god this person seemed so ill.

Y/N didn't really know what to do next but she figured she could at least get them warm before she could call an ambulance.

"You seem to be having trouble standing. Grab onto my arm and we can slowly walk together ok?" She said with a small smile as the other person hesitantly obliged.

Looking down at their bare feet that made Y/N worry even more.

"You-you shouldn't help me. You might be targeted". They whispered shaking harder as she lightly grabbed onto their shoulder helping them as they both slowly started to walk.

"Huh? Targeted? I don't really know what that means but one thing I do know is I couldn't leave you alone. What kind of person would I be?" Y/N said with a small chuckle as the pretty person glanced at her face for a second.

They couldn't help the blush that spread across their face and the happiness that glowed within.

A feeling they thought they could never feel again.

A feeling that was only ever short lived.

As they they slowly walked off, a black Mercedes watched them, two men in suits stared out at the pair.

One grabbed an iPhone out of his pocket, calling someone, nearly holding their breath when the other person picked up.

"Well?"

"We found him Sir. He was near the 7/11 on Grayson st. Unfortunately he's been helped by someone else before we could get to him". Said the almost shaken henchman as the driver next to him kept a blank face.

A deadly silence penetrated the air with a sinister hum.

"He was helped by someone else. Who".

The man holding the phone wished he was anywhere else.

It hadn't been a question.

"We don't know Sir. A young woman who seemed to be a worker from 7/11. She's taking him into an apartment building down the block".

The dark and deadly voice hissed at this news.

"Get him. And kill the stray. But do it in a few hours. Don't grab attention".

"Yes Sir".

As the line cut off, the world seemed to still, and the two henchman in the car glanced at one another.

They had finally found their target but now they another nuisance to get rid off.

Too bad for this girl. Too bad for poor Y/N who had no idea what she was being forced into.

Too bad that the world had decided to punish her and make her a character into one very twisted story.
