Winwin's POV

"Good job, everyone!" The staff congratulate us as we walk off the stage and return to our waiting room to wrap things up.

"You did great, Winwin, especially since you were under pressure," Kun compliments me as we pause in front of the door.

"Thanks," I respond. I am pretty proud of myself for not messing up. I'm very, very glad that everything went smoothly.

One of my favorite things about being an idol is the kind of mood that being on stage sets you in. It's just you, the music, the group, and performing your best for the people supporting you.

Which is probably why I don't even think I thought about Chunli while we were up there, because of how into the performance I was.

Now that it's over, we can hopefully use the same strategies as earlier and then get out without any incidents. Hopefully.

"You guys did great! Winwin, you were so cool!" Chunli gushes as soon as we enter. She really isn't going to give up on targeting me, is she?

"Thanks! I agree, Winwin hyung is super cool on stage. His performing tips are great, too," Hendery jumps in, saving me from having to answer.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Ten talking to one of the other stylists. A moment later, she gestures for me to sit down in front of her so she can wipe the makeup off my face.

"I told her that it took some time for you to get used to new stylists, so she offered to help," Ten whispers to me, breezing past. Not exactly the best excuse, but I'm definitely not upset about it.

The whole process goes very smoothly. The stylist does her job, I tag along with Xiaojun and Yangyang to change out of our stage outfits, and we return to the room, all without any interaction with Chunli.

While everyone is wrapping things up, I sit with Lucas in front of the camera. He's holding it up in front of us, even though the device isn't even on. We're literally saying random things to a black box that's not even recording, all to avoid a certain someone.

"Thank you for your work!" we all say to the staff, bowing and waving. We're actually going to get out of here. We're gonna do it.

But just as we're about to leave, Chunli calls out, "Wait! I have something to say!"

I stop, turning around. She wouldn't say anything too weird in front of so many people, right?

"Winnie, I really miss you," she starts, walking closer and closer. I back up. Uh oh. "I'm not exactly sure why you dumped me, but I want us to get back together."

The look on her face is so genuine that I almost believe her. Then I notice her smirk for just one second. Oh, no way. She's still the same.

The atmosphere is so tense, I'm finding it hard to breathe. All of the staff are looking at us, confusion written all over their faces.

"I, um, well..." I stammer. I'm so bad at rejecting people. Somebody please jump in and save me.

"He doesn't want you back, so if you'd kindly leave us alone, we'd appreciate that a lot," Yangyang says boldly. Thank goodness.

"Let him speak for himself," Chunli states, looking straight into my eyes. She knows very well that I'm not good at saying no, and she wants to use that.

"Stop taking advantage of Winwin. Come on, we're leaving," Kun states, taking me by the arm and pulling me out of there.

"This isn't the last you'll see of me!" Chunli cackles. I hope the staff back there deal with her, although SM probably won't even care.

I let our leader pull me to the car, my mind whirling. What is Chunli trying to do? Why is she here? Is she just trying to make money off of me or something?

What if I was just imagining that smirk? What if she really, genuinely wants to get back together? What if this messes up everything with Chunmei?

Wait, why am I even thinking about Chunmei? What does this situation have to do with her? Why am I so concerned about her?

"Winwin hyung! Winwin hyung!" Yangyang's voice pulls me out of the never-ending whirlwind of questions. I look around and notice that we're at the door of the van and I'm supposed to get in.

"Thanks for saving me back there, by the way," I tell our maknae, sitting down. Wow, I can't believe that I had to rely on him to save me.

Then again, Yangyang has that savage side that I just can't pull out. Yay, I'm thinking straight again.

"No problem. If she ever talks to you again, just man up and tell her to go away," he advises me. Maybe I'll try doing that.

"Winwin can be a little too nice at times, but I'm sure he can pull it off if he's ever in that kind of situation. Let's go home and forget that any of this happened," Ten suggests.

I nod, still unable to get her voice out of my head.
