Winwin's POV

~1 year time skip~

Well, this is nerve wracking, isn't it?

It's been a year since I asked Chunmei to be my girlfriend, a little over a year since I met her. Honestly, this might sound cheesy and all, but she's changed my life so much in ways I can't even list, so I won't even try.

Basically, the proposal is happening.

And at any given moment, too. Taeyong sent Chaemin off to pick her up, the reason being she's "too civil" to lay on the ground with the rest of the group, so she's going to go off on chauffeur duty for now. And she's very close to Chunmei.

The past year has been crazy, though. The fandom did calm down after just a few days, which I'm so thankful for, even though they were chill with it in the first place.

As for things with Chunmei, our relationship has only gone uphill. Not only have we gotten even closer than we already were, she's also doing insanely well as our manager. And her Korean... Don't even get me started, she's already basically fluent. It's amazing.

And for Chunli and our old manager, we haven't heard from the two rats since they got fired. Thank goodness, we can actually live. I hope they've learned their lessons and aren't out there messing up the lives of other innocent people. I really do.

After a lot of planning and conversation, we got the proposal and everything together. Taeyong and Chaemin insisted that we create a tradition following the way their proposal was done, and I have no problem with it at all.

Thus, we're currently at that same place where their proposal took place. Dang, we might as well just buy this piece of land, considering how much it's probably going to be used.

Yuta, of all people, had the idea to make the proposal café themed, based off of the small shop where we first met, and where Chunmei and I go at least three times a week. The rest of the group agreed and told me to just leave it to them.

So now we're here, under the dark sky, the stars, and the moon. These people went all out with their decorating. A wooden coffee table and chairs that look suspiciously similar - actually, exactly the same - as the one Chunmei and I usually sit at is in the middle, set for two.

I can only hope that they asked for permission from the shop owner to borrow them... They probably did, though. After all, Taeyong and Kun would never let the group members steal furniture from a café.

Instead of fairy lights, NCT decided to string paper lanterns all over the place, and I must say, it looks amazing. Normal camping lanterns are also placed on the ground surrounding the table, along with a scented candle on top of it.

It's perfect. I think she'll love it.

Just as I finish admiring the whole set-up and the effort that NCT put into making this so nice, I hear the sound of a car pulling up.

She's here.

Chunmei's POV

"Okay, I should go now, Chaemin's gonna be here soon... Bye Mom!"

I hang up with a smile on my face. This past year has been the best year of my life, and by a lot, too. Learning Korean, being the manager of WayV, being Winwin's girlfriend... Oh, and being Yangyang's sister.

I'm not officially or legally adopted by his parents or anything, since it'd be pretty extra to adopt me when I'm well over 18, but Yangyang did let me talk to his family, and we got pretty close. It started as a joke and turned into reality, but I regret nothing.

Anyways, Chaemin told me that Taeyong and Winwin wanted to go on another double date or something and that it was going to be kind of fancy, so I dressed up a little, not too much, but I also don't look like I'm just going to be going on a little picnic.

"Oh, hey, Chaemin," I greet my friend, opening the passenger's door and getting into the car.

"You look really good, Chunmei. Anyways, yeah, I'm here to pick you up because Taeyong and Winwin went on ahead to make sure our reservation was all good and all," she explained.

I nod. A little weird, since they usually don't do that, but I guess it's a really fancy thing, then. "Is this the first date that you and Taeyong have gone on since you got married?" I smile, thinking about that happy day from just a few months ago.

She shrugs. "I think we went on a couple, yeah. That wedding was so nice, though, even if Haechan almost crashed into the cake and ruined it before Kun moved the table last second."

I laugh, recalling the hilarious scene. "Yeah, that was amazing."

We turn down quiet road after quiet road. Is this some kind of cool, outdoorsy dinner or something? That would be nice.

"Alright, we're here," Chaemin says. I stop admiring the beautiful scenery outside the window. The car door opens next to me, revealing Jeno, all dressed up in a suit. Why is he here at our double date? Is it a triple date? No, he's not dating anyone. Not that I know of, at least.

I admire the tall trees and lanterns surrounding the area, then glance up at the clear night sky. Wow, this place is really nicely decorated.

Then I turn my attention to the ground and see exactly 22 people in matching black suits on the ground in front of me, laying in a way that spells out two words...

Marry Me.

I gasp, then turn around to see none other than my boyfriend, on one knee. Dang, he's all dressed up, too. Wait, I think I know what this is. My heart starts pounding in my chest in anticipation for what's about to come.

"Chunmei... I can't even express how much I love you, but seriously, you're the most important thing in my life right now. You're just such a wonderful person.

Remember the day I met you, in the café on our street, when I unofficially became your Translator? And the day you became my girlfriend and we agreed this was destiny?

I love you so much, and if you'll let me, I'd like to stay with you for the rest of my life, and so..." He takes a small velvet box out of his pocket, containing a sparkling diamond ring,

"Will you marry me?"

I raise my hands to my mouth in surprise and happiness, then exclaim, "Yes, of course!" He gets up and slips the ring onto my ring finger, a perfect fit. Then, as if I wasn't flustered enough already, he leans down and plants a passionate kiss on my lips.

Loud cheering suddenly fills the air. I turn around, half expecting to see hundreds of people because of how loud it is, then remember that NCT is present here. They're dusting themselves off and jumping around, celebrating as if they're the ones getting married. I love them.

"If you all were the ones who set this place up, including that very familiar looking table, thank you all so much, and I love you guys," I thank NCT, turning to face them.

"But," I add, turning to my boyfriend - or, my now fiancé - "I love you the most out of everyone."

"Love you too."

~THE END~
